For the past year, I have been working on my second album Wild Earth Child.
I am so excited to have the opportunity to share this project with you!
For me, music holds powerful magic. As I create these songs, it is my intention to weave the energies of hope and healing (for listeners and for our planet), to inspire the following of dreams and the finding of wonder in every moment.
The overall theme of this new album is returning to Nature, finding simplicity in Her ways and reveling in the ecstatic dance of life that connects all. Because this album is about oneness and celebration, I chose mostly up-tempo, rhythmic songs, “branching out” of my beloved Celtic style. On this album you will not only experience Celtic rhythms but also Middle-Eastern, Spanish and African woven through joyful melodies and uplifting lyrics.
Mythic themes are an important part of my song writing. As you listen to these songs, you will drift into realms of faerie enchantresses and fiery goddesses. You will draw inspiration from the muses and even a fly with a phoenix!
I am happy to announce that about 60% of the recording is done. I have been working with some amazingly talented New England folk musician and the incredible Grammy award-winning David Correia of Celebration Sound is joining me again as my engineer and co-producer.
I am so grateful for the kind and generous supporters that have helped me to get this far but I still have a long way to go. I am asking for your support today so I can continue to share this music.
This is where your donation money will go:
Studio and Engineer Costs - I need to record 4 more vocals and mix at least 10 songs. The mixing is where instrumental tracks are weeded out and the volume is adjusted for each and every sound. This is the most time-consuming and, therefore, the most expensive part of production.
Other Production Costs - I am licensing a rhythm track from a very special musician.
Pressing and Packaging - Lastly, the mastered CD is sent to be pressed (professionally copied) and packaged. I will use environmentally-friendly packaging which will cost an extra couple hundred dollars. It is important to me that every part of my process be gentle to the earth.
Shipping - I'm estimating my shipping costs for sending CDs to sponsors, promoters and reviewers will be around $500.
