The Story:

This winter, I want to record my music for the first time and I need your help to make this possible.

The last year has been one of the most challenging and exciting years of my life, bringing the birth of the most soulful songs I’ve ever written and exciting new collaborations that have made it apparent the time is NOW to finally record for the first time.After 6 years taking my time to develop as a musician in the NW, performing and studying with artists including Overton Berry, Redwood Son and Shy Girls, the time has come for me to share my original work with you and the rest of the world.  

The album:

We are fully producing 5 of the original songs, developed over the last year, with a team of talented artists and engineers.  

The Budget:

To give these songs the production they deserve, we are asking for $5,000.

This includes:

$1,000 for musicians and studio time

$2,000 for mixing with Sean Flora

$1,000 for mastering

$1,000 for artwork, licensing and duplication

Any additional funds raised will go toward marketing and promotion and *hopefully* an additional track.

The Team:

Michael Dougherty: A sought-after Portland bassist, Michael has performed on the East and West coasts with bands including Max Ribner Band.  He helped write the songs since their conception.  He is a talented web designer.

Akila Fields: Keyboard player Akila Fields has performed with many pop acts in the Portland area including his own project Sleepy Villain and Shy Girls.  He has been working with the songs since their debut this summer.

Noah Bernstein: Noah is a world-class saxophone monster, known for his work with Grammies and Tuneyards as well as Shy Girls.  He enjoys playing Scrabble in his free time and eating delicious dinners.

Joe Hall: Engineer Joe Hall is the founder of Camp Creek Records.  He has produced a number of albums by local artists including Max Ribner and I-Chele and The Circle of Light.

Sean Flora: Sean has mixed some of the best acts in modern rock, including Liv Warfield, The Shins and The Gossip.

Matthew Flowers: Vocalist, songwriter and producer Matthew Flowers has toured Europe and North America, sharing the stage with artists like Feist, Chilly Gonzales and Jamie Lidell. He began working with Jeni last summer after connecting over a mutual love of classic soul music.
