About this project

I have been playing and writing my own music for four years. Over the course of this time I have been steadily gaining a fan base across the United States and Europe.
People are contacting me from all over the world saying that my music is meaningful to them and that they want me to come and play.
I need to get there.
This is where you come in!
Being an independent musician today can be extremely rewarding, but it can also be very hard to achieve if you don't have capital behind you. I have decided for some crazy reason that I will not only tour The Netherlands for three weeks in April, but I will come back to the U.S. and try to tour as many cities as I can to support my new EP "Hollow Bones." I figure if I get a boost from my friends in what I am about to undertake, I can probably keep the momentum going through June.
So here is how it breaks down:
You can view the dates and radio shows for the European and U.S tour at: www.jeneehalstead.com.
The European tour is fully booked and the plane ticket purchased. Reprints of my debut cd "The River Grace," and the new EP "Hollow Bones" are underway. Getting to Europe is expensive, and although there are club guarantees, they are not large. A first tour to Europe is usually a "break even" type of scenario. It is going to be an amazing opportunity just to get over there and play for people.
This is what I am asking help with:
Plane ticket: $788.35
Car Rental: $300
Room and Board: $400
Merchandise Printing: $676
European Promotion: $ 350

U.S. Tour:
Car Expenses (fixing brakes, insurance): $1,000
Gas: $1,000 (yikes??)
Promotional Materials: $200
Food: $500
Room and board will probably be covered on this one for the most part by friends and fans like you.

Every dollar brings me closer to you!

Jenee Halstead arrives with an alto voice that sways gently back and forth between the realms of frailty and strength - part Emmylou Harris, part June Carter, part Patty Griffin. Halstead grew up in the Inland Empire mining country of the West, a singing tomboy with a restless heart. Escaping a collapsed love affair, she left the high desert quiet for the fertile folk environs of Cambridge, Massachusetts quickly taking root at Harvard Square’s Legendary Club Passim. Backed by her nuanced, small-bodied guitar, Halstead draws from the haunting melodies of the Depression Era, patiently distilling folk, bluegrass, and americana to create music that Matt Smith, Club Passim’s longtime manager, describes as “fresh and new, yet familiar and timeless".
