Healing the Wounds of 9/11...
It is a moment etched in our collective consciousness. And for most of us, if we close our eyes and concentrate we can recall moment-by-moment where we were when we first heard about the September 11th attacks in New York City in 2001. It was beyond anyone’s worst nightmare. Over 3,000 people were unashamedly slaughtered, their families left broken, many still in grieving, and our land was desolated.

This September will mark the 10th Anniversary of the 911 Attacks, and A City on its Knees Foundation needs your help to raise funding to complete a music video that they hope will be an Official Theme Song for this years’ events in New York City.

Jeff Richfield, producer, states, “We believe music has power to heal the hurting heart and bring healing over the land. Our mission is to first help heal the past hurts of families who lost loved ones. I want to be there to see their faces and join them in their suffering but also offer hope. By offering this "We Come to Pray" music video using the Anthem Song, "We're A City on its Knees" we will bring spiritual redemption, awareness of Gods redeeming power, and help in action to the scenes of City Devastations like these. We are calling upon YOU, and the Business Community, and the Church to come together to help us. We invite you to help us so you may share in the blessings.”

“Ten years ago, 9/11 marked a season of terror upon American soil that stole away thousands of innocent lives at New York City's World Trade Center, our nations “economic hub.”  Innocent blood was spilled over the land, and the hopes and dreams of thousand were stolen away. That marked a season of loss over America that not only is a personal one for the families who lost loved ones, but also for our nations economic indebtedness.   We want to do our part of turning the wave of the impoverished spirit back through the power of Gods Word through music.”

Richfield hopes the video, “We’re A City On Its Knees” will help bring healing to the victims and families of victims of 911 in a profound way,” he said. Jeff believes God will also hear this “song of prayer” based on II Chronicles 7:14, and bring healing to the land of New York City.

In 2nd Chronicles 7:14, God promises to bring healing to a hurting land as it reads, "...if My people, My God-defined people, humble themselves, pray, seek My presence corporately, and turn their backs on sin, I'll listen from heaven, forgive them, and restore their land to health...." (The Message translation) Simply put, Bend the knee of the church, and heal the heart of our world. The lyrics of this song express this theme: "Oh Lord hear the cry of the city...we're calling on Your name. We're the church that bears your name. Will You come and heal this land and breath on us again..." (See the lyrics to get the full message)

"A City on its Knees" is a movement of prayer and of action. We seek influential partners to pray corporately and help raise the banner of aid to victims and restore the lands of cities past, present and future. Our first task is to produce this initial video as a tribute of redemption for the 10th Year Anniversary Memorial Music Video for those who perished on 9/11, their families, civic leaders, and the land - Please help us raise supporter to complete this mission before 08/01/11 to donate this song as the Theme Song for this years events in NYC. See the rewards to the right. We will add your name to the credits. We've already shot the footage for this initial video, and now need $3,000-$4,000 more for production and editing costs for the final cut.  If we raise over our needed budget we will also use the video to inspire corporate prayer movements globally.  We can visit other places where citywide devastations occur such as Tornadoes in Joplin, MO, and Alabama, and in New Zealand where the earthquake did damage, and help bring healing there also through prayer, music and action.

Every one who participated in production, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of 9/11 and those affected by citywide devastations. We are ones who simply believe that in times of national peril, a nation needs to return to the Lord, and seek His face for guidance.  As national pressures escalate we believe God will put it on the hearts of leaders and politicians to gather more and more for citywide gatherings of prayer in Solemn Assemblies.

Please embed and send this plea out to those who may want to help us get this song to those who are planning events at a city or national level.  We want to be at ground zero on 9/11 to pay tribute using this song and playing it live at 9/11 related events and at other places across the earth where city devastations occur.

“Finally,” notes Richfield, “this isn’t so much about you joining “my project” as much as it is about joining God where He is at work.  Ten years ago, I was divinely inspired to write a song just before 9/11, and through the horror of those attacks God and His people still showed up to bring healing.  This 9/11 I believe the Lords spirit and His people will show up again. The question is, will we show up to join Him in His continued work?  I for one want to be there with my gift, and maybe you can’t physically show up, but you can in the spirit by helping this project get funded.
