“Let’s Make A Bet!”
A script by Jeffery Colvin
A money hungry ladies’ man named Harley Heartless is scouted by a spoiled, manipulative, smart killer named Mr. Payton to make high stake bets.
Dear Backers,
Thanks for taking time to read my query for “Let’s Make a Bet!” My name is Jeffery Colvin. I am a professional artist and engineer. I am a new writer and this is the first film I have written. I also drew the pictures, recorded the voices for the characters and made the videos for this movie myself.
Category: Psychological Thriller, Action, Comedy.
Rated: R
Length: 160 Pages
This film is original and is in the vein of Unleashed, Saw and Swordfish.
Mr. Payton is a faceless, mysterious, spoiled businessman with a smart mouth. Mr. Payton enjoys getting escorted around in expensive cars and gets a rush from collecting money he has won. He will bet anyone for any amount on any game. If he loses he pays his debt. But if they don’t pay him, he deals with them himself. He tells them to “Pay me or die!” Most people pay the high wagers but a few will meet a very unhappy Mr. Payton. Most of his victims will be conscious and sedated as Mr. Payton lets them think about the mistake they have made before he kills them in a non-evident way. In 2033, Mr. Payton is on his favorite website placing bets and runs across a handsome, stingy man named Harley Heartless. Mr. Payton sends Heartless an e-mail demanding that he enter a contest. The rules are to upload a video. The person with the most views wins.
Heartless wins the contest and after a trip to the police station he learns that he has a chance of turning his wait before trial into an experience of a lifetime. Heartless is treated like a prince in jail. He is given a condo on the top floor, sexy security guards and a 5 million dollar car to drive on the nights he can get out on the town. Heartless’ job is to pick the teams or individuals he is certain will win in any game, tournament or event and Mr. Payton places high stake bets on Heartless’ suggestions. Little does Heartless know this is just the beginning of a few more risky challenges.
Thanks for reading my query for “Let’s Make a Bet!”
What Am I Doing?
Simply put, I am raising money for my movie “Let's Make A Bet!” We submit that the funds for this movie should come from the people who actually want to see it or be cast members. I am raising $115,000 for the film to enter into production.
Why I'm Doing It?
I am putting this on
Kickstarter because i KNOW it is possible for this to be a tentpole
movie. I have been working on “Let's Make A Bet!” for almost a
year and I am writing on my newest film”FRIENDLY” in my spare
time. Don't miss out on this opportunity. Think about it…Isn't
this something you want to be a part of? Will you join me in making
our mark in history?
What’s
in the Digital Package?
Everyone who donates at least $50 will receive our Digital Download Package.
I have confirmed that it will include the following:
---Autographed poster,
banners and desktop wallpaper used for promotion of “Let's Make A
Bet!”
---Official “Let's Make A Bet!” Digital copy of the
movie.(When Production is Complete)
---The first 30 pages from the official script. (When Goal is Achieved)
---Text from Writer Jeffery Colvin (ME:). Your number will not be shared or used again.
What exactly is “Vindictive Pictures?”
Vindictive pictures is a balance of 4 movie themes. I try to mix Comedy, Drama, Thriller and Action for a more intimate feel and to appeal to a broader audience.
If the film is funded, when will it release?
Still to be determined. Post-production will begin soon after filming is complete. The plan is to have the movie release sometime in the Summer of 2013. Rest assured all of us involved will make sure YOU know when it’s due to release.
How will you get my information so I can receive my incentives?
My secretary and I will be going through all the people who donate to request their phone number. If you donate, you will get a message from ME. Please reply. I want to thank you. Please be patient because there will be thousands of phone calls and e-mails.
Once the goal is met, my team will immediately begin manufacturing and completing incentives for everyone involved. You will get a message from us requesting information from you like your T-shirt size, address, etc. At that time, please reply to us as soon as possible so that we can complete your incentive.
Can I increase my pledge once it’s been made?
YES! Once you donate to this campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.
What happens if the money isn’t raised in time?
Unfortunately nothing. If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, no money changes hands and no movie is made. We want to avoid this scenario at all cost!
Can we exceed the goal?
YES! Kickstarter will allow as much money as is given before the deadline. Maybe that would mean a more widespread theater release, or more unique physical copy packaging. The possibilities are endless.
How do we contact you?
Glad you asked! You can contact us directly at Vindictivepictures@gmail.com. We check it. We will get back to you. We promise!
Is Vindictivepictures a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?
Unfortunately neither this movement nor Vindictivepictures is set up as a non-profit. Donations are raw gifts. Non-tax deductible.
If I donate, when can I redeem the incentive?
All incentives, big and small, will only happen if our goal is met. If we do meet our goal, immediately after our deadline we will start to manufacture and ship all physical merchandise directly to you. It will be our priority to schedule the more personal incentives as soon as possible. You will hear from us. (More on this as we get closer to our deadline)
Who does the money
go to?
Every
penny (minus the fees for Kickstarter’s involvement) will go
directly to Writer/Producer Jeffery Colvin's movie budget - i.e.
Your money goes directly to the funding of this film.
$115,000 seems like a low number for a movie budget. Doesn’t it?
You are correct.
Fortunately, One of my best movie talents is to be able to write a
good movie or video on a small budget. Nevertheless, this is why my company needs
donations. The more money I can raise, the better the visual effects
and stunts will be. There are still very important investors
involved in this film. The $115,000 figure is the remaining balance
of a larger budget. Our goal is imperative for the film to be
a reality. PLEASE HELP EXCEED THIS NUMBER!
Any other questions? Just ask! Me and my team will be
delighted to answer them. Vindictivepictures@gmail.com
