"JAZZICAL MEETS MENKEN" CD

This CD recording project, a musical tribute to 9-time Grammy and multiple Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, is the most expansive Jazzical CD to date featuring performances by world famous artists Liz Callaway (Anastasia, Beauty and the Beast, Cats, Lion King II); Amanda McBroom (writer of "The Rose" and legend cabaret Broadway performer); and the Gay Mens Chorus of Los Angeles. The 31-piece Jazzical Symphony Orchestra will be moving and grooving to one-of-a-kind settings by Jazzical creator Joel A. Martin.

The money that is raised for this production will help pay for a week's recording costs at Pilot Recording Studios in Housatonic MA, as well as artist and symphony member's fees. The goal is to raise $10,000 but I hope to raise much more than this. The target goal is an all-or-nothing proposition - if we do not raise the $10,000 we cannot use any of monies for this project so your help is very much needed and appreciated.

Every single person involved in this project, from performers to singers and recording personnel, is giving their time and effort in the service of ART. I firmly believe that art and commerce can go hand in hand, and there is clearly a need for greater art in this world. Jazzical Meets Menken is a clear example that music can be explosive, touching, engaging, commercial and artistic, all at the same time.

Looking down the road, I see a PBS special, concert tours, and hopefully an Emmy or Grammy for "Jazzical Meets Menken." Yes, let's go for it all!
