Update #7: THE WAIT IS OVER...
Update #6: THE HOME STRETCH
Update #5: LIVE FROM THE CANYON
WOW! We just wrapped principal photography, and it looks amazing! Just wanted to give you a quick little preview of everything we're doing and thank all of those who donated. There's no way that this project could have happened without your help, and we're eternally grateful/determined to do your proud. Enjoy the stills (and the prizes you have coming your way)! THANK YOU. More to come!
Love, CANYON CANDY CAST & CREW
Update #4: We So Excited
Hey everybody! We reached the goal, and we're over the goal, which is about the most amazing thing that can happen. Thank you so much. It really is incredible and humbling that this project has been funded by sheer generosity, and we are working as hard as possible to create a work that deserves your attention. For the past few weeks we have been busy.
The talent that's being volunteered is incredible. Here's a little sketch I made for a scene and two photos of Heather and Sarah (Scheld)'s early realization of it: gonna be waaaay better than my sketch. How much fun. (That's Sarah, playing dead.)
I've been hoping to update this more, but we've been slammed busy: you'll just have to trust that we're hard at work. Nikkia Moultiere and Oscar have been scouring the tri-state area for supplies and locations, Jason Shrier has made 25 termite mounds and a wagon, Erin Schultz has the dopest costumes ever - (these are just names now, but just wait.)
And, to echo George and Tom, I'd really like to thank you for taking the time to support this project, with so many things happening in the world that command attention. It means everything, and we are dedicated to making a work that deserves your gift.
Thanks,
Mike

Javelin is a band/production duo consisting of cousins George Langford and Tom Van Buskirk.
They started working together in 2004, Providence, RI, and have long since moved operations to Brooklyn, NY.
In 2009 Javelin released JAMZ N JEMZ, a collection of odds and ends that found its way around the internet with some vigor. Next came two 12" records for Thrill Jockey, a slew of remixes & mixtapes, and their debut album "No Más" on David Byrne's label, Luaka Bop.
In 2010 Javelin toured extensively in the US and abroad, supporting larger acts (Yeasayer, Girl Talk, Matt & Kim, Major Lazer)… sharing the stage with fellow hot tickets Warpaint, Sleigh Bells, Big Freedia, Washed Out, Delicate Steve… culminating in playing Lollapalooza, being cartooned in the New Yorker Magazine, and performing at The Whitney Museum all in the same month.
2011 promises to be an interesting year for Javelin, perhaps most promisingly and interestingly in the release of their country western songbook 10" entitled "CANYON CANDY" -- on Luaka Bop -- which brings us to the present purpose of this campaign...
Great to see original sketch and then actual shot. Very excited.
