I'm excited to get into the studio and record an instrumental album. My first full length album, "How Many Miles..."(2002) included three instrumental guitar pieces: A Hobo Leaves Home, Run Rabbit Run, and A Touch of Blues. Since this album was released, I have continued writing instrumental pieces as well as lyrical songs. I enjoy playing instrumental pieces at live performances and rely upon them to complement my lyrical pieces and to add a different dynamic to my set list.
For the past 20 years I have been developing an intimate relationship with the guitar. I've trained myself up on the likes of Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Keb Mo and many other guitar masters. Now it's time to start recording!
The funds generated for this project will be used to record, master and produce the album as well as to create the CD artwork and print the actual CD (1000 copies). If by some stroke of luck the goal is exceeded I might use what is left over to by a new yacht, or begin my next album project...I'm torn.

Jason Valcourt is an acoustic guitar player and singer/songwriter with country blues, folk and reggae influences. Jason released his debut CD "How Many Miles..." in 2002, and has been entertaining at live music venues since 1999. Given such a hiatus from releasing an album Jason is now armed with a catalogue of new material to record. Playing venues in and around Providence in 2011 Jason has been gaining momemtum to go into the studio again and produce his second album; an entirely instrumental album, to be released in Spring of 2012.
