Hello all from Leipzig!

Sorry about the long time between updates, I've been working hard in the studio for the past 6 weeks and good things are happening!

The biggest installation (I changed the name to Wonderlust) is up now in the Werkschau space. The opening was last Thursday the response was great. The exhibition has artists from all over the world, Germany, Lithuania, Australia, Korea, Japan, Romania, Turkey ... and they all bring beautifully different ideas. It's been an inspiration to connect with them and with the curators of the exhibition from Schloss Solitude. So far I have an offer for a solo exhibition in Zagreb, Croatia next year and have some other exciting possibilities things on the burner. I'm hoping to find a space in NY to show another generation of this piece in the winter.

Conceptually, the project has changed a bit (as is supposed to happen in a residency) from a landscape to a cityscape. On a macrocosmic level, as you walk into the Werkschau you see a city, but as you enter the installation, it turns into something between a Cabinet of Curiosities (Wunderkammer), a toy store, or my studio. The towers are up to 11 feet tall and you're surrounded by small kinetic sculptures, notes, wires, sounds, and sketches. The French and German curators from Schloss Solitude likened each tower to a contemporary art museum. Unfortunately it's been impossible to work out any streaming video - the wifi connections in Germany are few, far between, and weak, so I haven't been able to connect from the exhibition spaces at all.

I'm posting loads of photos and videos on my facebook page (please go ahead and add me if we're not 'friends' already) and am slowly getting them up to my website. There are also a few timelapse videos I'm putting together. All the documentation has been turning out quite well, so I will be putting together a nice catalog when I return to NY.

This week I'm creating all your carved and drawn portraits, continuously adding them into the installation. Like a city or an artist's studio, Wonderlust is evolving and growing every day.

In 10 days I head down to Stuttgart for the final one week project. I'm going to use some of the pieces from the current installation, and try to remix it with natural elements I find around Stuttgart, so it should be something similar to the original project proposal.
