The Story (The short version)

I wrote a book about Armageddon that turned out to not be about Armageddon at all. A few years ago, I had this feeling that something huge was coming, and I felt like it was Armageddon. I talked it over with my wife, and after talking awhile, she joked that I should write a book about it. It was a joke because I had absolutely no ambition to write a book about anything, let alone Armageddon, which I hadn't studied or researched at all.


Then I joked back, "Yeah, and I'll call it 'In Case of Armageddon, Break Glass'" and then that feeling, that anxious pressure that Armageddon was coming, was gone. God had shown me what I was supposed to do.


Fast forward 1 year and 9 months, and I had written then re-written the book, and it no longer had anything at all to do with Armageddon. Instead, God led me to revelation after revelation (pun intended) about what the Book of Revelation can mean besides a very blurry guide to what's going to happen in the end times.


And when you read it with a "What does this mean to me, right now?" mindset, Revelation becomes a totally different book. It becomes an incredible guide for how we should live, right now, regardless of how and when Armageddon happens.


And, for those of you who are wondering, when I realized I was supposed to write the book, the feeling that Armageddon was coming soon went away :)


The Problem

After finishing the book, I approached a number of different publishers, and the only one that replied favorably turned out to be a vanity publisher and wanted me to sign a contract saying I'd sell 20,000 copies of the book, and if I didn't sell them, I'd have to buy the remainder. I can't commit to buying 20k copies of a book at even the "author discounted price" of $5 each...


So I self-published, ordered about 50 books and sent them off to unbiased reviewers. The reviews I've gotten have been well beyond my wildest dreams:

But, as a self-publisher, I don't have the marketing arm that the big publishers do, so I've only sold a few copies...

The Plan

I know a book marketing company who specializes in best seller campaigns. In fact, I've known the owner for years, he's a business associate of mine. I want to work with them to turn the book into a best seller, so the message that God gave me can be spread to as many people as possible.


In fact, I believe that's why I found KickStarter - I believe God led me here (I randomly found it the other day) so I could create a project and get the funds necessary to work with this company, and get the book out there in a big way.
