We are thrilled to offer you our brand-new, limited-edition DVD of LaPorte, Indiana. We handcrafted a small batch for the premiere, and due to overwhelming demand we’ve decided to offer a second pressing for any friend or fan of the film. We know that LaPorteans near and far will love to get their hands on this locally-grown DVD and we’ll be popping them in the mail quickly so you can get an early peek at our feature film.
Of course, we’ll be happy to send this to any address beyond Northwest Indiana… no matter if you grew up in LP or beyond, these stories and characters will be sure to resonate.
Each DVD is hand-stamped and signed by director Joe Beshenkovsky and producer Jason Bitner. We can’t help but mention they make excellent gifts, too. Surprise your friends and relatives with LaPorte, Indiana! We’ll ship any number of them right to your doorstep.

We're working diligently towards finishing a rough cut and in the next month or two, we'll head over to the post-house for the final color correct and audio mix.
Our first goal will be to submit the documentary to Sundance, SXSW and a handful of other film festivals. We're eager to share the film with you as soon as we can, and we'll keep you posted as we know more about screenings. We'll also setting up screenings in LaPorte and NYC in early 2010, details on these to come!
REWARDS! If you donated at a level for books or photos, please let us know where we can send your package. We'll be getting those out in a couple weeks, as soon as we're able to box everything up and get things to the post office.

Congratulations Jason! Can't wait to see the film...and Davy's "Easier With Practice." You guys are going places, that's for sure. Nanette and I are in Carlsbad if you're ever in the neighborhood. I'm just back from Sonoma where I shot the indycar race. Spend a couple of days in San Francisco eating and photographing. We're going to Santa Fe in mid-September.
Best to you and Joe,
Richard & Nanette

Update #2: GOAL! And Onwards!!!
THANK YOU!!!
With the your incredibly generous support, we've just met our goal of $7500! We're amazed at how quickly word has spread about the LaPorte documentary, and we couldn't be happier today. In just ten short days, 93 backers have pledged over $7500, and in just five days our facebook fans have gone from zero to 750. You've proven to us how community support for creative projects can help bring them to life and gain a wider audience.
We have PLENTY of LaPorte, Indiana books and original Frank Pease photos and portait songs and Midwestern trips to offer, so we're setting our sites now on a new $12,000 goal. As an added bonus, if we reach this new number, we'll give an extra Frank Pease photo to EVERY backer who've pledged up until now, no matter what your pledge level was.
And again, every dollar pledged will go towards the creation and promotion of the film... not to mention the costs for the online edit. Let's keep this momentum going and we'll keep you all posted as the film progresses.
THANKS AGAIN for your support, and please pass the word along to friends and family who might be interested in these stories.
Jason

Update #1: THANK YOU!
So in just six days, 42 of you have pledged $2,960.99 of your OWN PERSONAL MONEY to help us make the LaPorte documentary, and we're incredibly thankful for the support. We've got sixteen days left to find $4539.01- we're well on our way.
Heading into this fundraising effort, we hadn't really considered how the money-raising aspect could feel so rewarding. The way that Kickstarter works, every time someone pledges, we get an email telling us someone has offered us some money. The subject line reads "New Backer Alert! ________ has pledged $25.00 to LaPorte, Indiana."
What surprises me most is how much gratitude I feel when these messages arrive. With each pledge, I'm taken back by your generosity and good will- it's hard to put into words, but the spirit in which you're giving is just amazing. You're directly helping Joe and I finish a feature film. It's pretty huge.
Thanks again, and please pass the word along to any of your friends who might be into the movie.
Jason
