Hi!
My name's Jason, but you probably already knew that.
I'm a singer/songwriter and, until recently, I recorded all my stuff with Garageband, a tiny preamp, and a simple USB mic that came with Rock Band (which didn't create the greatest vocal sound, I tell you whut). I managed to create some very enjoyable works with the basic equipment I had; my second album, Afternoon Snacks, sold pretty well, with about 75% of the copies made sold, and my EP Second Helpings has started to sell on iTunes. But I'm older now; my songs have matured, and I've hit a bit of a wall as far as getting my songs to sound as good as they can possibly be.
We live in a world where DIY music runs rampant, and I need to rise to the top of that game if I want to be successful in today's music industry. I need professional equipment to record what I can assure you are quality songs. Unfortunately, I barely broke even from the costs of making my last two releases (especially given that iTunes sales only give me 70% of the profits). This is where you come in. With your support, I can buy the required equipment and record my album.
This works in several ways; one, the quality of my work will improve and become more sellable, allowing me to fund myself for future works. Two, not only will this allow me to provide a tangible work of art to the world, it gives you, the donor, a chance to win Fabulous Prizes!
