The Bunyan Affair is a story about a couple of friends who are making a Paul Bunyan comic book.
Two aging nerds are stuck in perpetual adolescence -- like the Fantastic Four stuck in the Negative Zone. With all of their friends getting married and having kids, our heroes must try to turn the tables on society with a burst of artistic creativity. For help, they turn to the plaid-wearing protector of Portland, America's first super hero, Paul Bunyan!
In other words: lacking any ambition outside of creating cool comics, our heroes become inspired by the legend of Paul Bunyan and decide to make a kick ass Paul Bunyan comic book. Things start to go awry when they enlist the help of a local Paul Bunyan purist...
As in classic Stan Lee comics, we'll leave the reader wondering what will happen next?? Only one way to find out, i.e. watch the movie!
BUT WAIT: in order to do that you need to help make sure that this movie gets produced! Any donation that you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
All money contributed will be put to good use to make this story look and sound as epic and cinematic as old Paul himself. We will be renting most of the lighting, sound, and camera equipment that will go into making this project come alive. The finished film will come in at about 20 minutes in length so $3200 is actually quite a small budget but we're very confident that with your help we can make it happen!
We have some pretty great incentives! Thomas and Jason are pretty good at dispensing advice and non-creepy hugs, Jason's pancake brunches are starting to become modern legend in the Pacific Northwest, and BT Livermore's Bunyan prints and pillows make epic gifts! Oh and the movie on DVD will be pretty cool too!
