THE GARAGE SALE DOCUMENTARY
"The Last Free American Market Place"
The first important social exploration of the American Garage Sale. In times of financial crisis, increasing numbers of people gather supporting each other at this great American pastime. Money stays in town. Dreams are made, bills are paid and treasures are found. Cultural boundaries are broken, supernatural events take place and you finally meet your neighbor.
A place were anything can be discovered. Stories are shared and humanity shines. Where great wealth and prosperity is uncovered through friendship, exchange, and community action. Practicing the true American concept of "No Taxation with out representation". A non-corporate grass roots activity of eccentric renewal. Citizens create a sustaining root system for communities across America.
Ten years in the making and over 200 hours of footage, Support this ground breaking documentary and learn the true value of this original American cultural activity known as the Garage Sale.

Successful project funding will support original music composition, equipment for transfers, Japanese translation, editing, camera, sound equipment, transportation, and electricity. Pay for actors like Phyllis Diller, guest speakers like quantum physicist Fred Alan Wolf. Plus, the artist's time and energy to create it. Whitham is a Multimedia artist most famous for his comedy TV show known as the Jared Whitham Show. Seven hours of original content aired 24/7 for an entire year commercial UHF New York City Television. Crowning Jared as the longest continually aired artists in New York history.
Accomplished feature film maker Whitham is most admired for Project Omicron. Retro 50's Science fiction art film released in 1999. Five years in the making he began working at age 15.
Whitham has Performed and exhibited at several international art fairs including Miami Art Basel, the New York Armory show and Art Vicroy. Currently represented by Rupert Ravens Contemporary exhibiting his Garage Sale installation. Much of Whitham's paintings sculpture, writing, films, and music are influenced by his Suburban Florida retirement culture.
Garage Sale documentation has been his obsession for the past ten years.
Over 200 hours of garage sale footage has been collected. Jared has hosted garage sales filled with cameras rolling and has written hundreds of pages on the topic. Now he is ready to complete this masterwork.
