UPDATE!!!!!!  MIKE "MADMAN" ALLRED has agreed to draw the COVER!  He will be doing the regular cover, so for $15 or more you can get a first printing of the issue.  So get to backing and support indie comics!!

WHAT'S THIS COMIC BOOK ABOUT?

Hi, my name is Anthony Hernandez and I would like to raise funds to pay for the artwork for my comic book SUPER CRAZY ANIMAL HAND! It's the first issue of a manga inspired comic about MEGUMI, a Japanese school girl, who can turn her arms into any kind of animal arms. She has a sidekick named NINJAPLEGIC. He's a handy-capable martial arts master in a wheelchair. They must defeat the evil bully and his Yakuza uncle. This will be an ongoing superhero comic that introduces an entire universe of heroes and villains that play around in all kinds of different genres (from horror and sci-fi to comedy and thriller).  

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THIS STUFF?

The ideas for these characters came from movies.  Megumi came to me while watching the Japanese film, Machine Girl.  I figured if a Japanese school girl can have a gun for an arm, why not Animal Hands!  And the idea for NINJAPLEGIC came from a short film I directed called OMG Zombies!! :( .  The rest of the themes and characters derive from my love of horror flicks, giant monster movies, Takashi Miike and Tarantino films, pop culture, and absurdity.

On a serious note this book also delves into the epidemic of bullying that's come about in recent times.  This book is very anti-bullying and I hope it gives someone the courage to speak out when they see it happen.

THE PLAN.

I would like to self publish, in print and digitally, through ka-blam.com and their sister site IndyPlanet.com.  Hopefully, if all goes well we can be ready to make the rounds during convention season.

MEET THE ARTIST!

The passion I have for this project is without equal and I have a plan. I just don't have the art skills. Help me pay the extremely talented Brian Brinlee (artist for The Sky Pirates of Valendor) to transform my words into awesome pictures. As we all know comic books are a visual medium and the artist is the key. I'm looking to pay him for 32 pages of pencils and inks. Please help rid the world of just one starving artist!  Brian has already finished 11 pages and should be done by the end of March.  I'll post updates as he finishes pages.

WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?

The funding will also cover lettering, coloring, printing, and the cover art of the comic.  And will also help with the cost of some of the donor rewards.

...and if people like it, I already have the next issue written and the 3rd is outlined.
