Hey all, huge start to this fundraising effort. Thanks so much to those who have pledged so generously. Please spread the word so we can keep it up and bring this thing to fruition -- remember, it's only if we meet our fundraising goal of $4000 that we get the funds and you get the goods. So post it to your facebook page, let your music-loving friends know, and check back for updates.
Thanks again,
Scott
This project successfully raised its funding goal on March 20, 2010.
A digital download of the new Russians LP, plus our eternal gratitude and regular updates.
Signed and numbered copy of the homemade CD – Limited to the first 50 discs issued.
CD of unreleased B-sides, demos, and covers, along with a signed copy of the new CD. The Russians have cut over 30 songs that have never seen the light of day, until now – while supplies last!
Special thank you credit in the liner notes and three copies of the CD to give out to your friends. Plus the b-sides CD.
Video song request. I will make a video (and audio, I suppose) recording of me performing any song of your choosing, with the single exception of War's “Why Can't We Be Friends?” I'll sing anything from “What'll I Do?” to “Poker Face.” Have you written a song? Well, if so, I'll sing it. You'll also get a digital download of the Russians LP and the b-sides CD.
One day of recording at The Moontower studio in Cambridge, MA with ol' Scott Janovitz as your engineer and guide. Wanna perform solo? Great. Have your own band? Capital. Wanna get your reading of “Howl” down on tape? I'm down. Complimentary CD and continental breakfast included.
Executive Producer credit on the CD and a guest list spot for you, plus one, to the invitation-only Russians record release party/performance in April 2010. Space is VERY LIMITED. Come and hobnob with the stars.
Russians house concert. Call up your friends. Stock the fridge with High Lifes. We’re coming to your house for a special, exclusive show. We might even feature cameos from some of Boston's rock luminaries. Feel free to charge at the door or just be super generous. And we take requests. (Must be in Massachusetts or otherwise within two hours of Boston.)
Head Russian Scott Janovitz will produce your record! We can work together to determine a schedule to complete a ten song LP. If you don't have a band, I'll help you get one together. And I promise not to go all Phil Spector on you, though I will definitely be wearing a wig.

In addition to my band The Russians, I am co-frontman of a rocking little combo called The Great Bandini, and I have toured with the great Graham Parker, Tommy Stinson, The Confidence Men, The Figgs, and Garvy J. What can I say, I like to play. Hey. Anyway...
My songs have been selected by Toyota and Absolut Vodka for promos, and one of them was named "best song" at last year's Boston Music Awards. The Russians were also recently featured as a CMJ.com spotlight artist. I am reserving space in my trophy case for further honors and accolades.
