This Kickstarter campaign will fund the production of the short film “The Everyday Hero”. The film will be a 20-minute action/thriller following the parallels of one man’s psychological breakdown and his need for redemption. The script is an original screenplay by husband/wife team Justine & James Henault.

THE STORY

Evan, a fraudulent computer programmer returns home from a severe car accident only to find a mysterious letter at his front door. The anonymous note requests his help in uncovering the contents of a supplied microchip. Unwilling to get involved, Evan passes it off to a close friend who is murdered as he discovers the chip’s frightening purpose. 

 When the letters continue to arrive, Evan finds himself the center of an inescapable conspiracy that forces him to revisit the pains of his past and threatens the security of his future. Now the only person standing in the way of the world's most notorious criminal-hacker is a washed-up computer programmer.

THE PROJECT

Where we are now...

I am happy to say that we have been very blessed so far. An amazingly talented team has assembled for the production of this film and it’s all been on a volunteer basis. Personal funding has been used to purchase key pieces of equipment, props and some of our locations. 

What we still need...

The cost of producing a film is high, and even with all the volunteers there’s still so much we need to pay for. The biggest items on our list are…

EQUIPMENT – We have some of our own gear, but in order to make this film a reality there’s more we need, this includes renting professional audio equipment.

CATERING – We’re looking at 12+ hours of filming per day in the daunting August heat and will need to keep our cast & crew filled with water and food.

LODGING – Many of the talented members of our team are coming from out of state. They are taking time out of their lives to volunteer for this project and we hope to put them up in hotels. 

Preproduction – We are currently tying up preproduction. This means we have our script nailed down, the majority of our cast and crew in place and we’re beginning rehearsals & set designs. Our crew is broken into 3 teams including, the production department, art department and sound department, who are all working diligently at making sure everything is in place for the beginning of production. 

THE STEPS

Production – Production begins Friday August 17th 2012 and will last for approximately five days. We’ll be shooting the entire film in Burlington Vermont. 

Postproduction – Will begin in early September and is scheduled for completion by the end of October/early November.
