2 albums in 2 months: one acoustic, one electronic. We can make it happen.
So here is some additional information, explaining everything in more depth. Please do read this, especially the "logistics" section, considering that we are on a tight deadline.
RECORDING ROOM: Essentially, I'll be building a 4' long, 6'-6" wide, 6'-5" tall box to use as recording space; I'd be using theatrical set construction techniques. The 4' sides would fold in, allowing it to be stored and moved as a 6' panel instead of as a large box. Expect pictures in the project updates.
THE ALBUMS & WHAT TO EXPECT: Since I am doing two albums in two months, they both would be fairly short. I am guaranteeing 5 songs per album at this point in time, which means recording a little more than a song a week. If I am particularly productive during the next two months, then I'll be able to get more done. It will all be recorded on my computer with a yeti (USB mic) through Logic (recording software), and it will all be uploaded to bandcamp.com.
ELECTRONIC ALBUM: This album would be entirely instrumental, no singing/lyrics. I enjoying creating electronic music, but I treat it differently than other electronic artists: sometimes my accordion/folk background is very apparent, and I infuse accordion or circus-like rhythms into a piece while other times I make more of a hypnotic pattern with overlapping loops that simply builds upon themselves. That said, I still have work with consistent, strong beats, which is what many look for in music. This album will be eclectic and interesting, but not too interesting that the sound itself suffers simply for the sake of experimentation, and yet still relatively simple. Also, try listening to it with headphones on--some tracks shift sounds from one ear to the other.
ACOUSTIC ALBUM: The acoustic album will also feature instrumental songs, but I can guarantee lyrics about gluttony and cannibalism on one track. My homemade instrument featured in the last few seconds of my video will be on one track, but for the most part, I foresee banjo-accordion-ukulele sounds--the set list will be finalized come August, but their is potentially room for a solo piano piece, if there is enough interest from the backers (or I have a sudden passionate urge to put solo piano on the album). If the right people are in the right place at the right time, I'll be able to feature other artists and add some other awesome instruments to the tracks, like cello or trumpet or clarinet, but that depends on the other musicians' availability. I'll keep you updated.
SONGWRITING WITH ME: You will be listed as collaborator on the track. If we aren't able to connect in the early part of August, we might not be able to get your song on the final album, but we will still make it and release it as a single on bandcamp.com.
BREAKDOWN OF FUNDS: After Kickstarter and Amazon take their processing fees, the rest of the funds will be split between 3 main categories: lumber and materials for the recording room, software/recording needs and copyright, and t-shirt manufacturing and shipment (they need to be ordered in bulk so the per unit price is cheaper).
LOGISTICS: We are on a TIGHT deadline. I can't express that enough in typing, but since some of the rewards do include working with me to create a song to be put on the final album, I need you all to be extraordinarily responsive: when I put out surveys to gather your contact info/whether or not you ordered a shirt/what size/where to send it, etc. I need the info as soon as humanly possible. Once the project end date is here and if the goal has been met, please be on the lookout and extremely alert. I'm leaving the country in September, so I need all the information early August so I can make things happen--the shirts will take 2 weeks to get to me, and during those two weeks I plan to be addressing envelopes to ship them to all who order them, but I cannot do that if I don't have EVERYONE's sizes and address (if you happen to be an international backer and ordered a shirt, please add $10 to your pledge for shipping costs). If I don't have your shirt size/location of where to send it, bad things happen: you don't get your shirt on time (we will still try to figure something out, but it will take a while, since I'm not in America for quite some time).
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.

We make an electronic instrumental song together via skype or telephone or email. You choose the key, I choose and number six chords to go with that key, you roll a die to figure out the order of the chords, I'll play it and put something together for the final album (we might have to do this a few times if we don't like how the order turns out the first couple of times). Oh, and you get the PDFs and the digital downloads and the t-shirt, too.Estimated delivery:
