KLIK Radio is an Internet radio station run by Fort Collins Youth Broadcasting, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by, managed by, and tailored for high school students.
Started in 2007 by a group of students who were passionate about music and current events, KLIK Radio has grown tremendously over the past few years. Our programming includes a variety of talk and music shows, showcasing everything from today's top 40 hits to the most obscure music of all time, mixed with commentary on life around high school students. We currently receive about 1,000 listeners per month, scattered across all 50 states and 20 different countries. Because of our recent growth, we need some more money to keep pushing our station forward.
Our goal is to raise $1,000 in March to fund our various expenses and investments for the next 3 months. This includes a few things:
The minimum amount set here at Kickstarter represents our expenses for April only.
We are currently pursuing multiple grants to help us make some major equipment purchases this year, including a $5,000 grant from Pepsi's Refresh Everything project, $4,000 from local foundations, and we hope to also create a new Kickstarter project to cover any other cool purchases.
We will be posting updates about our progress here on Kickstarter and on our regular organization blog, located at www.fcyb.org.

I founded an organization called Fort Collins Youth Broadcasting in April 2007, when I was a sophomore in high school. I was executive director of the organization from 2007 until 2009, during which we launched our radio station: KLIK Radio. I wanted to create a real-world experience for students, which included everything from business to web design, electronics, accounting, and music. Today, I am a freshman at Northeastern University, and I sit on the board of directors of Fort Collins Youth Broadcasting as treasurer.
