Dan Ouellette's sci-fi movie Dreams From A Petrified Head is about a man who dumps the memories of a dead dissident into a robot made in her likeness.

:: THE FILM ::
'Dreams From A Petrified Head' is the story of a man, Jeremy, whose job is to re-write the seditious media of a woman, Amanda Sage. She is a dissident whose anti-government speeches remain accessible to the public well after her death. Working to comprehend her lectures and alter them effectively, he decides to dump her stored memory into a robot made in her likeness. This brings him dangerously close to her and her message.

:: WHO WE ARE ::
I am Jason Goldman, the producer of 'Dreams From a Petrified Head', a short film written and conceived by Dan Ouellette in late 2009. The idea was to write a science fiction film that was more about concept and less about spaceships and photon phasers. A sci-fi story but in the spirit of the plays of Harold Pinter. Dan had been kicking the idea around for a while, so writing the script was fast. The decision to finally proceed was due in part to the overwhelmingly positive response from script readers. But even with just a one room set, we still had one big question: how do you make a stylish sci-fi film on a shoe-string budget?

Our professional careers and long-standing industry contacts make the otherwise insurmountable goal of producing a sci-fi movie, well within our reach. A small group of professionals, who have committed to the project, will allow us to achieve a level of quality far exceeding our bottom line expenses.

We have already acquired ample lumber and discarded set flats, through Dan's connections as a production designer, that would otherwise have been collected for dumpster removal. We are very happy that we are able to recycle the majority of the materials we'll need for this set. Sam Chase, our cinematographer, is both an owner and operator of a full Red-Camera ONE package. As Producer, I maintain relationships with storage facilities, shooting locations, equipment vendors, and the suppliers of the NYC film scene. And as a result of all of us working together on music video projects (for Android Lust and The Birthday Massacre) in the past, we have a large group of experienced crew eager to work with us again on a project, especially one as interesting as this one.

Even with these resources, however, there are some hard costs associated with a basic film production that simply don't come free:

- meals and food for the crew
- gas and transportation
- art department purchases and wardrobe materials
- other equipment rentals, not readily available within the film community

These aspects of the production will be covered, we hope, by your contributions. We also hope the rewards we're offering for these contributions only add to the excitement derived from being a part of this interesting project.
