'It Takes A Major Label to Hold Us Back" is a film documenting what it TRULY takes to release & promote an independent album.
We are filming a documentary based on our new album "It Takes A Major Label to Hold Us Back". As the name suggests, we are 100% DIY & have been heavily involved in the independent arts & music community since our inception. That being said, we wish to document the reality of what it TRULY takes to release & promote an independent album by combining new & old models (warts & all). We will be using new & emerging technologies throughout the process. We have an upcoming series of features on BitTorrent, involving video, music and remix . Our plan is to springboard this opportunity into something much larger and share our findings (what worked for us and what didn't) with the larger creative community, in hope that we can all build. From the street to the tweet we will be filming all the while. Fun stuff.
