A cowboy and a teenage girl clean up history, whether history wants it or not. 24 full-color pages! Also, a dinosaur!
A 24-page comic book, the first of a potential six issues. I already have 6 pages and a cover, but I would like there to be a whole issue, because that’s better in every conceivable way.
The basic plot is the series is this:
Samuel Dillon and Katie Baker are Agents of Paradox. They travel through time and space, closing wormholes to prevent spillover from different eras.
Dillon hopes to one day save the lives of his wife and son. Katie wants to save herself from being dumped by her boyfriend. Chagatai Khan, the cyborg son of Genghis Khan, plans to conquer all of human history simultaneously, proving that he is worthy of his father’s name. Dillon and Katie must both come to terms with what they have lost, and choose stopping Chagatai over changing the past. It’s a story about not dwelling on tragedies, big or small, and moving forward with your life, because going back is never as easy as it seems.
The first issue is Katie’s origin story, and it's mostly about a T-Rex attacking the suburbs in the 1980’s. It’s sort of like a John Hughes movie, but with a gristled old cowboy and a dinosaur.

Yes! Your pledge money will ONLY be used for making and shipping comics. You can still pledge with honor, knowing that your hard-earned cash will go towards:
- Paying the artists to draw, ink and color things (variant covers, MORE issues, etc.)
- Printing physical copies of the comic
- Printing Dillon sightings and other special features
- Shipping things to you, and to potential publishers, and back and forth between me and the artists
...and other things of that sort. Trust me, we have another $10,000 or so before I run out of ways to spend this money responsibly.
Based on nothing...yes, absolutely. You'll put a different kid through college with each of these hand-cut pages.
Sure. To see 6 finished pages (along with character biographies and gadget blueprints), please visit http://www.jackmcguigan.com/comicbooks/paradox/. UPDATE: Or, if you'd rather, you can just keep scrolling down.
Your sketch will, of course, be drawn just for you.
In his travels throughout history, Agent of Paradox Samuel Dillon has been pretty sloppy covering his tracks, and he's been spotted at a number of historical events. Bid $30 or more, and you will receive a photo of one such occasion, printed on fancy glossy paper.
Yep! I worked it into the prices.
Yes, definitely. See those bloody dinosaur teeth a couple inches up? That's as violent as it gets. PG, PG-13 tops.
While we would prefer that they be of Dillon, Katie, Chagatai or a T-Rex, if you REALLY want a Sinestro or a Deadpool or something, John's not going to be a jerk about it.
The Principal - Albert Brown
The Dog - Ellie Zellie
Katie's Best Friend - Bought but unnamed. So, until that person chooses, the character shall be named "K.B. Friend". I hope that pledger messages me back soon, or this will be a pretty dumb comic.
Absolutely. Happy to.
That said, it costs like $4 extra to ship to other countries, so if you wanted to tack on a few extra dollars, I surely would appreciate it.
Your money will ONLY be used to produce Paradox comics, and related things. Art, printing, shipping. So much shipping. Trust me, we have another $10,000 or so before I run out of ways to spend this money responsibly.
