Let’s Celebrate!
Thanks to all of you, our initial Kickstarter goal has been reached! This goal will enable us to pay our guest artists, purchase ISBN numbers, and expand our FTP space so we can manage page files and scans. These basic needs ensure that each issue of the project will be completed on time.
You made that happen and we thank you graciously for it.
So, what’s next?
We’ve got 17 days left on the Kickstarter clock and I’m sure there are some more people who might be interested in learning about Quandary. Please feel free to share this project with your friends!
If we exceed our initial goal, we will use the excess funds toward some of the other project items that were originally designated to be out-of-pocket expenses. These items include:
- a Flatter
- a Consulting Editor
- digital distribution set-up fees
- additional art
So, to celebrate this early success and to hopefully offset some of the items listed above, we are adding two new rewards!
NEW REWARD #1: $50 (limit 4)

Skype one-on-one with Janine Frederick (writer of Quandary and driving force behind this Kickstarter) to pick her brain about preplanning, organizing, and marketing your Kickstarter. Janine would like to share what she has learned with you.

Comic Art Portfolio Review from Chris Sotomayor (Illustrator, Comic book Colorist, former Editor) You will be invited into a 20-minute one-on-one Adobe Connect session to have five pages of your sequential art reviewed and critiqued by a tried and true industry professional. If you really want to know if your art's got moxie, a portfolio review is the way to go! (Please note: This professional art critique does not preclude a promise of future work in comics)
Both rewards also include an 11x17 promotional Kickstarter-edition print, signed and numbered and a signed and numbered copy of limited Kickstarter-edition ‘Making of Quandary’ magazine.
Also, every person who contributes $11 or more will receive every PDF issue of Quandary as they are released. A publishing schedule will be included in your reward packet in November, so you will know when to expect each one.

The SWEET AND SOUR Reward: The writer, Janine Frederick, will bake you a box of homemade cookies (approximately 2 dozen) and will ship them to your house. After the cookies arrive, you will receive a phone call from Janine where she will yell at you for approximately five minutes.
