GOAL:

We aim to use Kickstarter funds we raise to finance the printing and promotion of the first issue of Jaded. Our plan is to self-publish under the banner of Iron Age Productions, a creator-owned independent company founded in 2007. 

UPDATE: ALL ART AND LETTERING IS COMPLETE ON ISSUE 1! Now we will submit our book to Diamond Comic Distributors. When approved, Diamond will solicit the book within 30 days, and the book will hit stores approximately 2 months later.

That puts us at an approximate release date of mid to early-to-mid Oct 2011.

If the required funds are raised, we will announce our book at this years NY Comic Con at the Jacob Javitz Center in NYC on October 13-16th! Come visit our corner booth #1924!

STORY:

"Jaded: To Whom Pray the Gods?" Is about the consequences of being a super hero.

Four archetypal heroes (you'll recognize who each of our characters resemble quickly) are well into the beginning of their careers when life and tragedy bring their worlds to a startling halt. Each issue depicts a different hero's life-changing event, and how pain and loss affects even the most powerful people on Earth.

THE JADED TWIST:

Each issue is told in two intertwined tales, drawn by two very different and talented artists. Every issue's story is one solid chapter, told in two time periods: Then and Now. This allows the reader to see the vast difference in personality and character growth (or regression) each of our heroes has experienced over time, accentuated by the radically different art styles!

LESSONS LEARNED: Advertise!

Our collective experience tells us no mater how good our book is, no matter how many copies we print, it WON'T sell unless we promote it!

That's why we are raising funds to advertise the project so all our hard work won't go unnoticed. We want to advertise on the major comic websites (midtowncomics.com, Comicbookresources.com, IGN.COM, etc)

We have already booked a booth at NY Comic Con (60,000 projected attendance) and a full page, full color ad in their Con magazine (60,000 copies will be given out)!

LESSONS LEARNED: Go Digital!

We also know firsthand that the market for digital entertainment media is rising, while print media is in steady decline. As much as those of us from the "Iron Age" love to turn comic book pages, we understand the value of making our book available for digital downloads. We will be releasing each issue digitally on ITUNES one week after each issue is released in stores, as well as making them available for purchase on our own website!
