Very, very brief review.
1. Hardware works nicely.
2. App works within the limits noted by Ron
3. The user needs a LOT of work. ;-)
Hi Andrew, thanks for registering. You're in the system and should have received an invite yesterday. I'm going to resend the download link to you. Let me know if you haven't received the invite in an hour or so.
I've had the Air Guitar for almost a week now, but no app to use it with. I've submitted for access in the test program but heard nothing back. Any idea when the app will be released and/or I can get access to the app via the test?
@matthew: Yes we have! The $49 and $249 units were shipped last week.
Ronald, how about an update? Have you started shipping the $49 rewards yet? Thanks!
Nice work Ronald and Colin. I've been doing hardware for a while and it's damn hard to get the ship date. This is especially true when working with cell phone manufacturers which have their own schedules. Big props to you guys and am looking forward to having mine. I don't really understand the negative comments here though. The fact that it's being manufactured means:
1) The hardware is complete, Apple's tested it and given approval
2) FCC/IC/CE testing is complete and approved
3) The iOS app is complete, Apple's tested it and given approval
4) Chips & Components were ordered and in inventory for manufacturing
5) Time on the line was secured and they're manufacturing it
That's damn impressive for $31k in pledges.
Look the thing is every other project that I am backing the backer get regular updates. With this project updates are like pulling teeth. Nothing is happening no news. The last update was something about a party. Is that how the bakers money was spent to throught some sort of party. It has been to long without a update. This is not right!
Looking for an update when you get a chance, thanks Ronald!
Guys, Relax. they have already stated that the app is Not certified yet on the app store and thats the big hold up. once they have that then we will have a better idea. Patience is a virtue.
J Newell what did you say about legal action:)
An update would be nice?!
Here's the other snip from the FAQ:
If I am unable to complete my project as listed, what should I do?
If you are unable to fulfill the promises made to backers, cannot complete the project as advertised, or decide to abandon the project for any reason, you are expected to cancel funding. A failure to do so could result in damage to your reputation or even legal action on behalf of your backers.
Here's the thing. It's been just a few days under eight months. I'd like to throw out two thoughts from the Kickstarter FAQ:
What do I do if I miss my Estimated Delivery Date?
The Estimated Delivery Date is intended to set expectations for backers on when they will receive rewards. Setbacks are common to any project, and creative ones especially. When the unforeseen occurs, creators are expected to post a Project Update explaining the situation. Sharing the story, speed bumps and all, is part of the Kickstarter experience.
Creators who are honest and transparent will find backers to be far more forgiving. We’ve all felt the urge to avoid things when we feel bad about them, but leaving backers in the dark makes them assume the worst. It not only reflects badly on the project, it’s disrespectful to the support that community has given and to other Kickstarter creators. Regular communication is a must.
Sorry, missed your message 3 days ago. We're still working on it, waiting for the last certification, app is still rough but coming along.
Ronald, are you guys still there???
Any updates on this?
Hey Roman, Jeffrey, We're working hard on the product and hope to get the product to you asap.
i am reallly starting to think that this was a waiste of $$
Now that the party is done, can you please give us an eta of the air guitar moves that we purchased? Thank you for thinking of your Kickstarter supporters.
Hey Kevin, our manufacturer is China has done a terrific job, we're very happy with them and will definitely work with them again. We may have underestimated how much work it is (don't forget we're doing hardware *and* software), but I'm sure you'll love the product. If you're in the Bay Area this Friday, make sure to drop by.
Maybe if you stayed in house and found an american tooling company there might not be a delay. Why do so many KS projects go to China?
Even better, we just send you all an invite to a party (co-hosted by SoundCloud and Retronyms) in San Francisco where you can try out Air Guitar Move in person. Hope many of you will join.
Looking for an update, Thanks!
updated ETA please
Ronald, do you have an estimated shipping date at this point? Or a "no earlier than" comment that you can make?
Has anyone recieved theirs yet? Also, because they are shipping so late, will the $39 and $49 pledges have their guitars shipped at the same time?
Hey Roman, we just returned from the factory in China and fixed the last issues with the hardware. We'll ship later than planned, we're working as hard as we can to get the product to you soon!
Guys I'm sorry but no updates since June is kinda pushing it. What's going on with the product. Has it failed or what.
Any updates on this? The last update was in June - no word since 12/2. Some updating would be very welcome!
Not out in time for Christmas?
Can you please give us a status update.
Just checking in for an update, any news?
Thanks Michael, we can't wait to ship it to you :)
I know you guys are working hard to make the product great, keep it up. I am so excited to get an Air Guitar Move in my hands!!!
Hi Roman, (apologies for missing your Nov 13 post) We're working out the final hardware kinks, we're sending out an update this week and the product itself soon.
Any clue at all when I will get mine
Any idea when shipping will begin?
Hi Buddy, we had a few delays, we'll post an update soon. The products looks awesome, btw. :)
Have not received anything. Shouldn't I have it by now?
sooooooooo excited to receive my air guitar move!! Got my iphone today - perfect timing:)
No problem, and just got your latest - thanks!
John
John, apologies that you didn't receive the email. The email was sent to your gmail account. We'll use the kickstarter internal messaging system to reach out next time.
Thanks, Ronald - no, I don't see the email in either the inbox or spam folder! Odd. Thanks for the update - looking forward to this. Best regards - John
Thanks J! We finished molding of the plastic, finalized the embedded code and electronics. We procured all the parts and the manufacturer is currently producing a test batch of 20 units. We already have tested all parts independently, the new batch will be the first fully assembled units.
PS: Did you receive our email update a few weeks ago?
Hi all - wondering how things are going? Great project, looking forward to putting it to work!
Hi David, apologies for the non communication. We'll send out a detailed update soon. We started tooling and expect the first production samples in two weeks. Next steps are sourcing components production and certification. I expect the $49 and $249 versions to ship early October, the $39 version a month later.
Do you have a shipping date?
Thanks Ken!
Cool little gadget! Trying to think of other game or apps concepts that this might work with. :-)
Rock On! Happy to back this project. Cant wait to play. Best, Steve: googler13.
