I hope the characters won't float while walking when the game is done . Otherwise I'm very happy with what ive seen so far. :) btw, I hope there will be a lot of gore. I appreciated that in the fallout games.
Creator GoodKnight 4 days ago
I agree with Arco!
Plus I also loved Wasteland ;P
But there is similarity between the two :) I would think that backers for Wasteland would also think about JA.
Either way I waiting to see some update :D
Take your time obviously :P
Creator Archo on May 11
You know, I backed this project because I thought it is a mix of Fallout & Jagged Alliance...or let's say the best I can get. Then I saw the video and was amazed by the details of the water and light effects and it is all 2D. Amazing. Really. Still, now that there is a Jagged Alliance campaign here on KS:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2079547763/jagged-alliance-flashback
Would be nice if you could edorse it. If that is not possible, don't worry, I am really looking forward to your next update.
Creator Sales101 on May 9
When are we going to get more info. Would like to hear about release of wasteland 1. When will the beta be released. See lots more footage.
Creator dungeoncrawl on May 5
Anybody know if they're planning on releasing any more footage soon? I need a fix.
Creator Chris Collins on April 26
@Asa Swain
Thank you. I found it in the Wasteland 1 wiki. There are 13 areas TOTAL (major and minor) in Wasteland 1. Making Wasteland 2 considerably larger right from the get go with 14 major and an unknown number of minor areas.
http://wasteland.wikia.com/wiki/Wasteland_world
Creator Asa Swain on April 25
Chris, If you check out http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/564602-wasteland/faqs, I think you'll find maps of the major areas in the game. I don't know if they cover everything, having never played Wasteland. Looks like there are about 8 areas. But Wasteland is old enough that I think we can assume the maps for Wasteland 2 will be a lot bigger and more complicated.
Creator Chris Collins on April 25
14 Major areas in Wasteland 2. That sounds like more than Wasteland 1? Does anyone know/remember how many major areas Wasteland 1 had?
Creator gandalf.nho - Weresheepjaguar Huntress on April 25
Found a interesting book project, a fantasy anthology, Ed Greenwood and ColinMcComb are some of the names involved: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1891800025/the-awakened-an-epic-fantasy-anthology
Creator Thomas Beekers on April 23
@Bobby Douglas You will be able to get your digital copy or copies as a key for one of our digital retailers, including Steam.
Creator Bobby Douglas on April 23
A question about the copies of the game that backers will receive: Will those keys (assuming its keys we get) be able to be activated on Steam, or will it just be for a stand-alone copy of the game?
Creator Asa Payne on April 23
in response to update 28: yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I speak only for myself when I say, Dont rush it. We will wait if it means a better product. Looking forward to getting my hands on this!

When will we be getting wasteland 1. Can't wait to replay it
Creator wes rowlands on April 15
I'm glad we got a bit longer before it's out so i can scrape up cash to up my backing lol
Creator Brandon on April 14
@ A New Hope, games like this one will be available to everybody DRM free if they so choose. That doesn't mean they shouldn't be available on things like Steam, after all some weird people actually like having their collection on steam.
Creator Brandon on April 14
Bah, October is just too far away!
Creator Alex on April 14
@Brother None, Does that mean future content for the game will remain DRM free, and will patches be released as manual updates DRM free that wont require redownloading the whole game? It's probably a bit too early to discuss WHAT kind of added content, if any, hopefully it's something akin to expansion packs and not just bitty pieces of content for $2.99. Now, I don't have a personal issue with Steam, Origin ect. but it would be nice to know that all options for future content of the game will remain stoically optional, fully balanced, and not placated or steered towards any particular DRM or otherwise. Thanks.
Creator Thomas Beekers on April 13
@A New Hope: You misread my statement. The game will be offered for sale on Steam, Origin and GOG, as confirmed digital retailers, and likely more DRM-free retailers if we can get them, for backers and non-backers. We're not tied to any single retailer, DRM-free or DRM-having.
@wes rowland inXile owns the rights to Wasteland. We have a deal in place for usage of the Wasteland 1 contents (intellectual property), but that deal does not give EA any creative or distribution control.
Creator wes rowlands on April 13
I think i might try and upgrade to another backer level if they stay away from DRM.
Creator A New Hope on April 13
" We'll put the game on retailers that use DRM, like Steam or Origin, sure, because our backers can decide for themselves if they prefer that option, and we're agnostic to where you get the game."
If this is true for other projects as well then my days of pledging are over, DRM-free should be for everyone not only for backers.
Creator A New Hope on April 13
I agree, if more projects are going to go tjhe DRM-free only for backers route then I´ll also will stop pledging. I pledged to Kickstarter because I´m sick and tired of the way the big companies are trying to get every penny they can from their buyers.
Creator Gulo Peters on April 13
Just adding my voice to the chorus; I am a Shadowrun Returns, Wasteland 2 and Torment backer and a tad annoyed about the DRM -- I'm one of those anti-DRM/Control Linux guys which means that while a lot of folks think I'm crazy for "being against fun", but I think they're crazy for wanting to give away their rights and control so eagerly and easily.
I thought part of the strength of Kickstarter was to be able to control such things, but it seems this is not the case.
Creator wes rowlands on April 12
Doesn't EA own the rights to wasteland? If so they could be like Microsoft. I think more companies will be careful from now on looking into this kind of thing before even getting started. Just have to start backing original projects and not those owned by massive companies.
Creator William on April 12
I pray that Wasteland 2 won't be hit by a DRM snafu like Shadowrun Returns. I really ought to be more careful about backing games on Kickstarter....
Creator Alex on April 12
Yeah imagine if they announce that Wasteland 2 DLC is only available on Origin? :X
Creator wes rowlands on April 12
If they pull this steam crap like Shadowrun did I'll never back another of their projects. I think Shadowrun got stuck with it since Microsoft owns Shadowrun. Still i spent more on Wasteland 2 than Shadowrun.
Creator Alex on April 12
So, considering all the drama lately with projects running into setbacks and cutting corners, it would be nice to know if if Wasteland 2 is currently on schedule and that no surprise bad news is forthcoming. :)
Creator Jörn Huxhorn on April 12
Fallout & Fallout 2 (and some other games) are 50% cheaper for the weekend!
http://www.gog.com/promo/interplay_weekend_promo_120413
I thought that might interest some of you, same target audience etc. :)
Creator Glen Proko on April 11
My money is on November.
Creator Chris Collins on April 10
posting this from the Torment comments:
Thomas Beekers 28 minutes ago
For both Torment and Wasteland 2, we're not using Steamworks and you won't be forced to use any single retailer option to access any part of the game or be able to use modding. We'll put the game on retailers that use DRM, like Steam or Origin, sure, because our backers can decide for themselves if they prefer that option, and we're agnostic to where you get the game.
Creator Mark McKinnon on April 10
Yeah please do not go the same route please keep this game DRM free PLEASE :-).
Creator Kyle Meyer on April 10
Please keep this DRM free, don't add Steam DRM like Shadowrun just did.
Creator Chris Collins on April 10
I would not be surprised if it is put out in late November or December. They are going to want to polish it as much as possible.
Creator Shane on April 10
Yeah it's been taken from October to Fall on the inXile website.
Creator Shane on April 10
It seems like that they're well on track reaching all milestones pretty much on the perfect timeline. So, Either October or November for release in my opinion
Creator Michel Baumann on April 9
Any news on the releas date? Is October still realistic or does inxile need more time?
Creator Alex on April 8
Your staunch liberal views are touching, Dennis.
Creator Dennis Smith on April 6
LOL. That is my nickname given to me by a coworker in in heavy construction so I earned it I guess.
Creator Ross Jensen on April 6
Well, you do have a picture of the Hulk on your profile, so your rage is acceptable.
Creator Dennis Smith on April 5
I will say this. I am a very passionate person about the things I enjoyed an I get a little irate and say what's on my mind without thinking sometimes. I standby my feeling that old school rpg's have been ruined by people who want everything handed to them, hints every step of the way, and shortcuts galore and it is pathetic. What happened to the satisfaction of completing hard tasks without shortcuts and hints everywhere? The excuse that you have responsibilities is a joke. Everyone has resonsibilities and makes time for the things they enjoy. I was raised to have hard working ethic and it carries through everything I do. I never went the easy way in life even though I could have.
My apologies to the community for my rage but I did mean every word.
Congratulations to everyone who backed Torment and inXile. Another win for old school gamers.
Creator Dennis Smith on April 5
Keep in mind you are the troll. This an old school game backed by people who wanted that. I act like a child because I am sick of you wannabes ruining every game with easy buttons. You get dumber as you age? You want to act like you are the only god damn adult with responsibilities. You are a pathetic excuse for an adult. You want to tell me to crawl under a rock? My real names right there, I don't hide behind a screen name. In the real world when you act like a pompous ass you get your ass handed to you.
Creator OddBall on April 5
@Dennis Smith bear in mind, I asked a simple question, you reacted like a child, I responded(Should have not fed the troll) and now your response is to have a fight in real life to teach me a lesson in how to talk to a grown man on the internet, so who really is the bad guy in this as you say the button stick or keyboard conversation?
Creator Dennis Smith on April 4
I wish you would have the balls to talk like that to me in real life. You want to an easy button stick to your phone. Like you're the only one to have responsibilities. I'll show you how the real world works when you talk shit to a grown man.
Creator OddBall on April 4
Sigh........man I hate the internet sometime or perhaps its people I don't like Hmmmmm
Creator Ned Stark on April 3
No, no quest markers. This is old school built for real gamers. Kindly get lost with quest markers and other non-sense please.
Creator OddBall on April 2
@Dennis Smith HAHAHAHAHAHA, presume much?
Its about time not about difficulty, I have finished many a difficult and long game in my day but being as I am now an adult(with many responsibilities) with not as much free time on my hand(with many games out there to play) so yes some modern gaming techniques(guest markers/quick travel) would be appreciative but if its not there not a problem it will just have to take me much longer to finish Wasteland 2.
Now perhaps you should crawl back under that rock you have surfaced from and read up on how the world really works.
Creator Dennis Smith on April 1
Let me guess, you are a casual apple hipster who wants a win button on everything too. Would you like someone to play it for you? Get mad, I don't care. It's people like you why rpg's have turned to crap anymore.
Creator OddBall on April 1
I know I should read through the updates/go through forums but perhaps one of you fine personal can let me know if there will be quest markers i.e direct to quest locations, I know I KNOW its lazy, lame etc but I don't have tons of spare time in my life to go everywhere in the game the very large game world.
Creator Dennis Smith on March 23
Wasteland 2 will be great and the waiting is hard as I am a huge fan of Wasteland/Fallout. I went through FO3 again and currently going through New Vegas again to satisfy my needs til Wasteland 2 releases. I pledged for Torment but I can wait for that. WL2 is my must have. Bring on the M.A.D. Monks!
