A Production Workshop to develop a season of original shows using classical music, contemporary dance, comedy, and circus arts.
Ghostly, luminous torsos shaped in white linen float in the air above young women in Edwardian bridal gowns that themselves look as if they've been left in the garden for a season. Haunting lines of a melody by Clara Schumann enfold a grotesque bouffon Marie Antoinette and her lover in a spell of unrequited longing....
Work has begun on Dreampunk, the 2012/2013 season of shows from Luminous Thread. Using the Inventing Earth production workshop facility, designers, costumers, and prop-makers are hard at work getting ready for the first show, Nuptials for the Dead, which opens in Denver October 28th.
In addition to ticket sales and other fundraising activities, we must raise at least $5,000 by early October to meet all our commitments to the artists, performers, technicians, and venues. Thank you for being a part of this. Thank you for bringing art to life.

Here is how the production workshop is put together:
1. An organization or collective brings established, professional artists/scientists/scholars from multiple fields to mentor and coach early career professional-level talent.
2. Inventing Earth provides the workshop environment and the budding artists, technicians, and others looking for the opportunity to work with and learn from the veterans.
3. At the end of the workshop, the production company sponsors a live performance, display, or publication to showcase the completed work. After the workshop ends, the sponsor may choose to undertake a commercial endeavor based on workshop, and may offer professional positions to workshop participants.
