It's Not Night: It's Space was born only a short while ago in the winter of 2010, and while we have faced a few challenges, the overall scope of the ride since has been one of nonstop excitement and satisfaction. None of us have ever experienced a more creatively rewarding project in our lives, and we are incredibly grateful for both our fans and the mysterious sense of some external source from which the music arrives. We feel in debt and in service to you both.
The EP we self-released back in October represents our beginnings. The three songs recorded for it were the first we wrote together. Since then we have been continuously writing new music: some songs we've been playing live for a long while now; others have yet to be heard, but we believe strongly in all of them, and we would love to share them with you.
For our EP and everything we have done as a band, we have reached into our own shallow, moth-eaten pockets. We are, at heart, a DIY band, but we see this as a chance to, on one hand, strive for a fully realized vision of our music, and on the other, reach out to all our fans and have you share in the creative process/experience. The one reward that's not listed, which is for all backers, is a front row ticket to the whole process. We will stay in touch with our backers and give you an inside look of the recording process and sneak previews of what will be on this record.
