Hello,
My name is Inger Hansen. I’m a singer-songwriter, originally from Germany, but I now live and work in Brooklyn at my apartment in Clinton Hill. I put out a solo acoustic album in 2008 with money I scratched together teaching kids to play guitar. I later began tinkering with dance music on song number eight, Don't Wake Me Up, the first of several collaborations with DJ/producer Roger Shah.
This past year I wrote some really personal songs then went into my home studio to morph them into electronic tracks—with heart. I'd like to harness the know-how of producer Anthony Molina of Mercury Rev fame to burnish these songs and toss them onto an EP along with five remixes by a few of my fine DJ friends; Nuera and Roger Shah confirmed so far, talking to James Yuill, Jaytech and others.
It takes serious bling to record, mix and master in a professional studio. I don’t have a big label bankrolling me; I'm an independent. I will thus pay for my vision—the recording, mixing, mastering and packaging with grocery money and a bit of financial aid from friends and fans.
The funds I receive from Kickstarter will cover:
1. Studio time at Molina's Studio in Kingston, NY
2. Anthony Molina, who will produce, engineer and mix the record
3. Mastering (ensures the record sounds good, whether on an i-pod or a 3K Hi-Fi)
The goal amount should take care of all the basic production. I'll pay for CD-Production, full color digipaks with booklets as well as some very indie promotion and distribution out of my own pocket. I'll also cover all additional expenses. Kickstarter works likes this: The artist HAS to reach the funding goal or beyond. If this project does NOT fund in the given period (28 days in this case), all backers will be refunded and the dream is history. It's an all or nothing deal.
