Hi! Your last update said things were looking to go by the end of November-ish, I just want to make sure mine didn't get lost in the mail!! Hope you're doing well :)

David, These will definitely ship well before August begins. I am stuffing envelopes and boxes all weekend for coloring books, all next weekend for giclees and tee shirts, and cutting/finishing/varnishing the Bethalynne Bajema art during the following week. We'll have it to you before August :)

Creator David Miles on June 11, 2011

I have an issue. I'm moving the first week of August. Will we receive the items before then? If not, I need to give you a "care of" address.

Okay, Kickstarter sent me a reminder this morning that took me to the survey. Whew!

    5. Lukemomchimayoclose.small

      Creator Deana Weibel-Swanson on May 26, 2011

In case anyone wise in the ways of Kickstarter reads this.... I followed advice to see the survey notification by logging out and back in again.
So far I've logged in and out about four times and still don't see any survey notification. I'm trying to change it so I don't log in from Facebook, but it's not allowing me to change my password so I can log in without Facebook. This is driving me a bit crazy. I'll keep trying, but any advice would be appreciated. I'm on a Mac, running Firefox if that makes a difference... I just wrote to Kickstarter, but I thought maybe someone would see this and have some good ideas. Thanks!

      Thank you!!!

After WSE, we'll be picking up the first, and most elusive parts for this thing: Those huge cast iron posts. From there, Steve and Todd will be fashioning the spinning drum, and I'll be working on sculpture designs here, as well as drawing the painting to scale on art paper - and conceiving animations for the zoetropic part.

We'll have updates, updates, and updates galore every step of the way - here, if we are able to continue to post, and of course on infernaldevice.net, facebook.com/infernaldevice, and on twitter.com/infernal_device :)

I should have bought some party poppers for this moment... but I didn't think it would come so soon!

So... now that I'm not obsessing... I can tell the dumpster guys I am free to clean our house, oversee the drop-off, clean the garage, break out the table saw, make our backdrop for World Steam Expo - and start packaging prints and framing artworks for for it... I might even be able to show up dressed! (and maybe steampunk-up this damned hospital shoe I am still wearing).

Meanwhile people can still grab some great deals if they want to... for 36 hours from now.

      Fantastic!

Do the gears match up with each other tooth to tooth? A big part of this kickstarter is just so we can get these big heavy parts from where they are, so if/when we hit the 100% - if you are not too attached to the gears and they suit our needs... I think we can work some stuff out.

    37. Karma.small

Creator Karma Lee Nash on May 21, 2011

I'm in Virginia or would bring you some awesome old gears I picked up. One is about a foot across and heavy. Lovely old thing.

Free domain name and a year's free hosting will be furnished through Topclasshost, Dreamhost or other suitable web host. (hosting after that year will be $59 a year, or $8 a month, and can be taken over at any time by you.... really I prefer it that way). Also includes a commemorative Tee shirt, all of the downloads listed above, the coloring book, and a banner link from our site to yours... you can also of course hang out with us for a night or day for your own private tour, and yes, please bring some guests.

The prototype scale model, finished - including a scale version of the painting on the finished work, painted completely by hand by me (Myke Amend). There is a lot of woodwork, measuring, assembling, and reassembling in this work. And I took great care to make all of the woodwork exceptionally sturdy. I'll go a step further and add the LED lights and make miniature sculptures for the four posts. This is a truly one of a kind work of functional art, and the closest anyone could come to having the original for their home (unless their home has 20 foot doors and a 200 lb/psi+ concrete floor anyway). The Tee shirt, and signed 8x10, 11x14 and 16x20 prints would of course be in this deal, as well as a solo tour of the workshop and a night out, build site picnic, or private dinner with the artists. PLUS one of the special limited-run Infernal Crew T-shirts, PLUS all the downloads, PLUS the coloring book, PLUS your name engraved into some part of the machine.
