Update #8: Full Speed Ahead!
Hello Everyone,
Great news: we have officially begun editing full time with our new post-production team. Over the last 6 weeks, we’ve been working hard collecting all the videos and photos that have been taken at Improv Everywhere events since its inception in 2002. During those past ten years, hundreds of videographers and photographers have documented Improv Everywhere events and we’re doing our best to track down as much material as possible. (If you have any footage you’d be willing to send to us, please email improveverywherefilm@gmail.com).
In addition to what others have shot, we’ve secured access to all the Improv Everywhere archival video (over 100 Mini DV tapes...remember those!) and we’re planning to digitize everything in the highest quality possible. We’re looking forward to discovering new stories and great behind-the-scenes footage as we continue to look for patterns in the evolution of Improv Everywhere.
The ongoing support of this project has been amazing. We’ve been contacted by over 20 freelance professionals who have offered the film everything from composing to translation services. We’ve been in touch with all of them and will be sure to use their skills as best as possible. What’s more, we’ve been offered discounted equipment and production services to help document an Improv Everywhere mission for the film from start to finish. Finally, we’ve had some generous donations via PayPal and raised an additional $650. If you missed the campaign and would also like to support us, check it out here: http://improveverywhere.com/film/.
Please make sure to keep up to date with us on Facebook and Twitter where we will continue to post more information about the film! It’s the best place to see clips and teasers before the movie comes out!

Update #7: WE DID IT! THANK YOU! How to follow the film going forward!
Whew, what an exciting conclusion to the campaign! As you can imagine, we’ve been running on fumes this last week and finally found some time to sleep over the weekend. We’re still in awe that we not only reached our goal but surpassed it. We raised over $9,548 on the last day alone!
We wish there was time to call all 1,675 of you personally to say thanks but right now we’ve got to buckle down and finish this movie. Thanks to all of you we’ve got a busy, exciting year ahead of us!
Please continue to follow us on Facebook and Twitter, where we’ll update you on the progress of the film and the details about its eventual premier. It’s also a great place to direct any friends and family who might be interested in learning about the project.
Once again, we want to sincerely thank you for everything you’ve given us the last 38 days. Not only have you given us financial support, but you’ve given us your time, attention and, in many cases, your talents. We promise to do everything we can to return the favor and make a film we can all be proud of.
Here are a few articles about the project that were written during the campaign:

Congratulations! I just noticed that part of the budget was for buying footage from the 2007 TV pilot. It will be great to see that put to good use.

Update #6: You Are the 1% (Don’t Worry, It’s a Good Thing)
Hello!
This is it. We’re less than 15 hours away from the end of the campaign.
Thank you so much for donating. Hundreds of thousands of people have visited our campaign page, but less than 1% have actually taken the plunge and put their financial support behind us. Amazing to believe we’ve come this far. It's people like you that are going to make this film a reality and we can't thank you enough for your support.
Every dollar donated and every link posted will help us reach our goal. Just think, if everyone who has seen the trailer (http://bit.ly/sOFbMi) donated just $1, we would have tripled our goal already. The key to reaching our goal is getting the Kickstarter page seen by as many people as possible. If we don't reach our goal, you will never be charged for your pledge and we go right back to square one, delaying the film indefinitely. By promoting the kickstarter campaign to your network, we’ll be able to inch ever closer to our goal of a successful campaign and a wonderful film that we can all be proud of.
We also want to take the time to thank those of you have increased your donation since the time of your original pledge. Every day we've seen donations increase by $5, $10, $15 dollars and we want to assure you these things do not go unnoticed. Just think, if everyone increased their pledge by $5, we'd make our goal almost exactly.
Additionally, if you follow us on Facebook and Twitter, we can update you on future progress and the film premier! In the last hours of the campaign, however, we’ll be using these outlets to share the Kickstarter link as much as possible. If you could spread the word to your networks too, we’d be so grateful: http://kck.st/svFubS
Thanks again for all your support. Over the course of this campaign we have been consistently humbled and amazed by the generosity you've shown us. We really would not be able to do this without each and everyone of you!
Sincerely,
Matt and Andrew

Youtube vids + short annotations = millions of views = many more potential pledgers.
I seriously don't get why there is not made any use of the easiest and cheapest way to get more exposure. And nothing wrong with 150-200k to make a movie with I would say? ;)
That said it should make it now. :)

Update #5: Let’s Hit the Press, Together (and Facebook, Twitter)
A giant thank you is in order, we finally reached the six digits and are within striking distance. So, thank you. Thank you for helping make this two man effort feel like an army out there every day promoting what we’re doing here.
There’s no doubt, we can reach the goal - together. If everyone reading this could post about the project via Facebook, Twitter or Email (too late for the post office, I think) we are confident we can make it to our goal.
We’ve been posting about the project at every opportunity, however we can only reach so far. If everyone who has supported the project (let’s say 1000 backers, to be safe) reaches 100 friends, we will have 100,000 more people who know what we’re up to! And if even just 1% of those people can donate $20, we’ll have raised $20,000!
Here are some ways you might be able to help us achieve this:
- Share the link to the Kickstarter: http://kck.st/svFubS
- Share the press release with any blogs or newspapers you think might be interested in covering our last two days: http://bit.ly/xaj5pO
Please don’t hesitate to comment or reach out via email at improveverywherefilm@gmail.com. We’ll get back to you before the day is over. Thanks again for all the encouragement. It has kept our spirits high and we feel incredibly lucky to have so many people that believe in our film. Look for our final update tomorrow morning.

Update #4: Twitter Giveaway Strategy (With Video!)

Matt Adams loves making things. It all started with a love of crayons in kindergarten. Since then, Matt has been a rapper, a children's party entertainer, a singer in a hardcore band, a comedian and a filmmaker. When Matt was 18, he took a bunch of money that he had saved mowing lawns and bought a video camera. Most of his early videos starred his parents because he didn't know any actors and since they were hilarious on camera, it seemed to make sense. A few hundred videos later, Matt connected with Improv Everywhere and began filming and editing videos full time. If this campaign is successful, this will be his first feature film and hopefully far from his last. For more, visit: www.mattadamsapple.com.
