RoboUpdate! Time's Winding Down... "Your Friends Have 8 Days To Comply."
RoboBackers! It's hard to believe, but we're coming up on just one week left of funding, and then the real fun begins. Here's a quick update with more to follow in the remaining days, and of course beyond.
First, you should know that the peeps working on the production of the statue have been rocking it for you. We're collaborating with some truly talented and expert people to finalize every step of the process and the ultimate location in Detroit. It's amazing how quickly and organically and excellently this is all snapping together. The world doesn't always move at internet speeds, but sometimes, on special occasions like this, it comes darn close!
Second, now is the time to tell your friends and networks that if they want to be in the credits of this epic creation they need to back the project through Kickstarter by March 26th. We've got the start of a revamped project site cooking at http://detroitneedsrobocop.com that will clearly credit everyone who contributes. Remember, friends don't let friends miss out on being able to list "helped crowd-create a statue of RoboCop in Detroit" on their résumés. It is in direct violation of your third directive: Uphold the awesome.
Once again, the link to share is http://detroitneedsrobocop.com . That's the official portal to the Kickstarter, Facebook page, and project updates.
Now, not to go on forever, but just a couple more really cool things:
If you haven't seen, Peter Weller released another video in support of the project and our friends at RoboCharity who are raising money for Forgotten Harvest, a charity that helps feed hungry metro Detroiters. The video is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngw2GbqrJ_A and Forgotten Harvest is at http://forgottenharvest.org . Consider a donation there to spread ever more RoboGood.
This Sunday, March 20th, under a motto of "Make Detroit our sister city!" (something we'd love to see more of all around the world) the World Famous Kenton Club in Portland, Oregon USA is hosting their own fundraiser for the statue titled "Dead Or Alive, You're Partying With Me!" There will be screenings of RoboCop 1 & 2, alcohol for those of imbibing age, and a RoboCop kissing booth(!) for those of kissing age. Details at http://kentonclub.com/event/288 . Thank you so much, Portland and the Kenton Club!
Keep up the energy, and, as always, thank you for your cooperation,
