About this project

I’m Idgy Dean, a self-made garage-pop solo music project! I write all the material, play all the instruments, and do all the recording and production on my own, usually in a tiny bedroom with pretty rugged instruments and equipment. Though doing everything by myself has given me an enormous amount of creative freedom these last several years, it is now an imperative that I fashion a recording sophisticated enough to share with the larger, more critical world. I need Kickstarter’s help to do this.

Heart & Lung is a 9-song album currently being written and performed around New York City that I would like to professionally record. To do so, I have reached out to Spaceman Sound, a recording studio and production company located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Together with this team of engineers, I hope to preserve a body of original songs worthy of recognition.

This November and December, I graciously ask you to help me raise $3,000 to bring this album to life. I plan to put a thousand dollars toward recording, another thousand toward mastering, and the third thousand toward printing and promotion.

My goal is to raise this amount by January 1st, 2011, the day my dear friend Ziggy would have turned 25-years-old, had we not lost him to Melanoma last fall. This album is for him.
