Hey everyone,
We're trying to get a sense of what OS's people are going to want to use light table on so we can focus on the most important ones first. Mind filling in this survey? It's only one question :)

Woke up, read the email, clicked the link, slightly frustrated.
Oh well.
OS X here.

Creator Алексей Гузенко on May 26, 2012
Mac Os X
Creator James Mullineux on May 26, 2012
So this was a US only survey the? I'm hoping a new one will be created as soon as they realise their mistake.
Creator Cirunz on May 26, 2012
Some thing for me: I woke up and read of the survey but it was already closed :/
For the record: windows mostly.
Creator Rick Beerendonk on May 26, 2012
Open en closed before I even wake up. I pledged for a $100 dollar, while not having the chance to influence wether the early versions and feedback rounds I get will be with software for operating systems I use?
Creator Bernd Schoeller on May 26, 2012
True.
Creator Atarun on May 26, 2012
The survey was up for less than 5 hours? :'(
Creator Gonzalo on May 26, 2012
Looks like I didn't make it in time to answer. Different time zone, I guess.
Creator Chris Granger on May 26, 2012
Don't worry guys, the point wasn't to figure out what to support ultimately - just what to think about first. Turns out that it was a lot more even than I was expecting :)
Creator Lukas Nemec on May 26, 2012
Best idea would be to make the app for MacOS and linux, since Mac is linux in core .. GUI shit is different though, but core should work on both with little changes, and lots of people use linux :)
Creator Calvin on May 26, 2012
Will have to back out if it ends up OS X Lion only. I'm actually amazed that's ranked first
Creator Jason Fagan on May 26, 2012
Survey says "Sorry, but this form is no longer accepting submissions."
But for me it will be OSX 10.7 and Ubuntu.
Creator Albin Stjerna on May 26, 2012
Uh, why is the form closed already?
Creator Adrianus Kleemans on May 26, 2012

Creator Jeremy Tice on May 26, 2012
I'd use it with Mac and Linux
Creator Josh Duff on May 26, 2012
This form is no longer accepting submissions, apparently? :-x Ah well - I'm a Windows user, myself.
Creator tengisu on May 26, 2012
I also missed it :(
Linux +1
Creator Andrean Franc on May 26, 2012
I missed the voting too, and mine goes for Ubuntu!
Creator Jean-Luc Nacif Coelho on May 26, 2012
Great now i have to upgrade to lion ¬¬
Creator dgw on May 26, 2012
My OS "order of use":
1. Windows 7 (portable apps preferred, for use from USB drives)
2. Linux (RHE & Ubuntu)
3. OS X 10.6+
I hope Light Table will have a portable version. Most of my software use is on lab machines and I have to take whichever one I get, bringing my programs/data with me.
Creator ET3D on May 26, 2012
Can you repeat this without the 2000 limit?
Creator Andrey Fedorov on May 26, 2012
Why limit the poll to 2000?
Creator Mitch Thomas on May 26, 2012
OSX +1
Creator Sam on May 26, 2012
Grr missed out on this I am using linux, ubuntu/kubuntu/debian based just fyi.
Creator Nick on May 26, 2012
Guess I missed it also. I'd have to go linux (debian) > windows. Don't use macs at all.
Creator Joost Cassee on May 26, 2012
Chris, you realize that the poll was only open during nighttime in Europe, right?
Creator Michael Alexander on May 26, 2012
Dissapointed I missed too, but for me it would be Linux - other (Arch).
Creator Alex Abbott on May 25, 2012
Well, if you make it OSX only, then I won't be able to use it, which may make me retract my $50 for early access. I would strongly urge you developing for Windows or Linux first, since both can be run on all platforms, whereas Mac is technically limited to Apples only.
Creator DX_Blaster on May 25, 2012
Damn some typos, sorry.
Too bad there is no edit function on comments... would be nice...
Have a nice weekend all Kickstarter people :)
Creator DX_Blaster on May 25, 2012
Like Thom Goodsell, I missed out the voting too :(
I will tell anyway what where I would use the App:
using level: 1 most of the time, 2 sometimes, 3 just for fun and testing purpose
1. Windows 7 (I guess Win8 in the future, but I'm not sure of it, I'm not convinced about Metro UI...)
2. OSX at min. 10.6.8 and higher (not a big fan of 10.7 -> guess its like Win8 to much shiny crap..)
3. Linux - I'm a very basic use in this Ubuntu it the only user-friendly Client I found so far.
Creator Thom Goodsell on May 25, 2012
Disappointed I missed out on the voting, but since my platform of choice is already the top vote-getter, I won't feel too bad. (Linux is my second choice, and Ubuntu is fine by me.)
Creator Chris Granger on May 25, 2012
I'm amazed that we hit the cap of 2000 submissions already lol :) Thanks folks.
Here are the results:

Keep in mind that multiple options were allowed so the numbers won't add up like you would think.
Creator Travis Howe on May 25, 2012
Windows/ Linux
Creator Jean-Luc Nacif Coelho on May 25, 2012
Seriously, who codes in windows?
Creator Mircea on May 25, 2012
Would be nice if you supported Cython as well, typed python that compiles into C.
Creator Nathan on May 25, 2012
Please support both Snow Leopard and Lion. In other words please don't use Lion specific functionality. I hate Lion and refuse to upgrade from Snow Leopard until Apple comes out with something better than Snow Leopard.
Creator Dmitry Chichkov on May 25, 2012
Curious, if you've done the survey onto "what programming language people are going to want to use light table on"... and if python was first there :)
Creator Jonathan on May 25, 2012
Voted with my primary dev environment, snow leapord.
Given the bluetooth keyboards available and the focus of intention gained when working with a single-app device, I kind of wish iPad was in the writing. For my creative writing, at least, the combination keyboard and touchscreen is amazing. When you add in the fullscreen-only-apps, it becomes a fantastic focusing device.
With the flexibility of the UI of Light Table exhibited in the demo videos, it seems like it would be suited nicely for a larger touch screen + physical input device.
I just want to play with it, though :)
Creator blaine wishart on May 25, 2012
Thanks for asking about os preferences. I'd prefer the os that maximizes your speed, although I listed lion, Snow Leopard, Ubuntu and Windows in the survey. Clojure & JavaScript are great starting points.
Creator Andrew Rabon on May 25, 2012
Will you make the results of this survey available? I'm personally curious. :)
Ubuntu here.
Creator Jose Boedo on May 25, 2012
Guys, thanks for the awesome product!
It would be useful to have support for commonly used languages in the sciences. I can think of 3
Python
Fortran
IDL
Cheers
Jose
Creator Jackson Bloomston on May 25, 2012
Yes... OS X (Lion, Mountain Lion, or SuperBigCat, or whatever it will be called)
Creator John Nastos on May 25, 2012
By the time Light Table is out, of course, Mountain Lion will be too
