Hi, I'm Eric. Starting September 5th, I'm riding my bicycle across America and drawing the entire adventure. The trip will last about a year.

The conventional ‘American Dream’ isn’t working right now. Hard work alone doesn’t guarantee prosperity with the current unemployment rates. I’ve been barely scraping by since I graduated with my MFA. For my trip, I’ll basically be a hobo, but using online travel networks such as Couchsurfing.org and Warmshowers.org for shelter. In more remote areas, I'll be trading drawings for a shower, a story or a place to camp. I’m really interested in creative self-sufficiency and would like to see how other people are getting by.

The tour will start from my apartment in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn. The first stop is Newark, NJ. From there I’ll travel to my recent Alma Mater, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. After that, his route is vague, but simple; zig-zag south to Miami, come up along the Gulf Coast and head west, stopping in places like Dallas, Albuquerque and all of the middle-of-nowheres in between. Once I hit California, it’s north until Seattle, across through the Rockies through Salt Lake City, swirling through the Midwest and curving up through New England. The journey will end roughly 13 months later back in Brooklyn. While he will be making stops in most major cities, the bulk of the stops are yet to be determined.

All proceeds will go towards the trip! I need about $1000 to buy gear for the trip (bicycle parts, bike shorts, camping supplies, etc..,) and additional funds will help feed me!

Things I need: -Dynamo Hub > charges phone/headlights with every tire rotation! -New Tires> will go through several sets -Rear/front racks, as well as panniers (saddlebags) -3 season, 1 person backpacking tent -Ultra compact/light mummy sleeping bag -new bike saddle (seat) -spare parts (brake cables, tubes, etc...,) -sexy bike shorts (optional) -food

I'm going to continue to sell postcards from the road, but I need $1000 to get started. Any extra will help feed me throughout the year!
