To start things off… thank you! We appreciate anyone who takes time to support the arts. We are grateful you have checked out our project and hope you decide to help fund it.

I am Dragon is a group of seasoned musicians currently seeking to produce an EP to get our original music to the masses via radio play, internet distribution, local music stores and old fashioned musician-to-fan sales.

After a year of playing shows in and around our home base of Madison, WI, the band has started to branch out and play throughout the Midwest. In order to make these tours financially feasible we need to sell band merchandise. We currently have T-shirts, but more specifically we need to be able to sell our main product: our music! Before we can do this we need quality recordings we can be proud to sell at a reasonable profit to keep gas in our van's tank and food in our bellies while on the road. We also need these quality recordings physically packaged and in stock to sell to music lovers wherever we may meet them.

The one good recording we have of our song "Get Out of the Corn Maze" was featured on the first Bullhound Studios Compilation, and recently got used in a segment about the Mad Rollin' Dolls airing on the CW. Once produced, we plan to shoot and create a music video for one of the songs featured on the upcoming EP.

Where's the Money Going?

Our plan is to record the EP with Madison Media Institute graduate and "ninja recording engineer" Dustin Sisson at Blast House Studios in Madison. We anticipate needing either one full or two half days of recording time followed by mixing and mastering sessions. This is how the bulk of the funds raised here will be spent. We then plan to press 100-200 copies on CD with Madison based disk manufacturer Sooper Dooper in addition to adding the digital files to iTunes. We want to be in the studio by August, spend September mixing and mastering and have the CD out by October 2012. Our budget includes:

Recording: $800

Mixing/Mastering: $300

CD Production: $400

Total Goal: $1,500
