Who am I?

Welcome to the Kickstarter campaign page for Hustling, An Original Web Series. My name is Sebastian La Cause.  I am the show's creator and director.  The response to Season One was overwhelmingly positive and fans have been asking for more.  I am doing this fundraising campaign to make that a reality. 

What will the money be used for?

A successful Kickstarter campaign will make it possible to continue the show for eight more episodes.  It will also ensure a stronger production by providing us with better equipment, new locations, professional talent and a sound person.  With your help, Hustling can grow and evolve. 

What can you expect?

You can expect to feel good knowing that your contributions are going to fund an indie TV movement that is changing the way people experience content.  It's a thrilling time to explore in this medium.  And most importantly, you can expect a brand new season of Hustling!  The stellar ensemble cast is eager to return and there will be more great guest stars. 

Where do I find Season One?

Hustling launched November 16, 2011 on the web channels Blip.TV and Youtube.  You can watch all eight episodes from Season One on the show's webpage, www.hustling.tv. 

How did Hustling come to be?

I saw an independent television movement happening on the web and I was inspired by other artists taking control and expressing themselves in a creative space that was new.  A space where anyone with a script and the sheer desire and willpower to create could make something happen and have instant global distribution. So I jumped in head first.

How was Season One funded?

The first season was made on virtually no budget.  The camera and lights were borrowed.  The locations were donated.  The actors all worked for free and I paid for food, travel, props and costume pieces out of pocket.  The crew consisted of myself and three others.  Some days it was just me, the camera, the lights and the actors.  On other days, it was  just me and the camera.  Every minute I learned something new.  It was exhilarating.  Hustling transformed my life as an artist by showing me that I was capable of much more than I had ever imagined and also as a human being by showing me the willingness of others to give of themselves and of their time, solely to be creative and support something that they believed in. 

What was the response?

Viewers were engaged by the show's honesty and responded to the story.  They related to the struggles of the main character Ryan.  A man who desperately wanted change in his life but was unsure as to how to make that happen.  For a complete story synopsis, click here.   The show also garnered some attention from the press and won a couple awards!  It doesn't matter what you do - an attorney, an accountant, a waiter or a bartender - everybody understands "starting over" and "trying to move your life forward."   That's what Hustling is about at its core: finding your purpose.

I am excited to get back behind the camera and back to hustling.  I hope you will join me on this journey toward season 2!
