Hi, everyone:

Just wanted to drop a little update to let you know how things are going.  

After dealing with some frustrating frame rate issues for all too long, we recently made a breakthrough and have Fins sailing along smoothly once more.  It meant redoing a few things, but the reward in performance was well worth it.

The ocean is getting deeper as we add layers and new moving elements to the game.  We also have Fins even more animated, munching on food, and reacting to collisions, bringing a lot more life into the game.  And we're continuously refining his movement so that it feels as smooth and natural as possible. We hope you like the look and feel as much as we do!

Right now I'm working on having Fins look where he swims, moving his eyes in reaction to the direction of movement as well as his efforts.  I'm also refactoring the terrain collision system to keep things efficient and smooth.  

Next on deck is finishing the environment layers and water effects-- I'm really looking forward to rigging those up as it's going to completely change the richness of the game aesthetic!

Hi, everyone:

It's been too long since our last progress update after a series of personal hiccups this past summer.  Nonetheless, we are still working hard on Fins, and despite a slower-than-anticipated summer, things are picking up steam once more.  We hope to have some fancy new screenshots and a more detailed update to you very soon!

Just a quick update to say that the backer rewards are coming along, we're just waiting for some more folks to fill in their surveys so that we can order the right amount/sizes, etc.  If you haven't yet completed your survey, please do so as soon as possible as we're waiting to place our order. And in other news I'm wrapping up teaching my final course for the summer, so I'll be diving back into the fish bowl in earnest starting next week and will have more updates and the exclusive backers mailing list set up shortly.  Hooray!
