I've gotten the same questions from a quite a few people. I thought it would be best to address them here--
First, everyone wants to see footage shot with the arm. I will start posting videos this week at hummingbirdarm.com There is a small clip of a bearded guy that was shot with the arm. He's Jonathan (one of the machinists that is helping out with the project). When I have a little more time I'll shoot some more footage with the arm and post clips there. A note- I'm not a video editor or film maker so the footage will reflect that.
Second, several people have asked for a donation that would be rewarded with an arm and harness(project). I've wrestled with this question because kickstarter is a great way to presell products and see if there is a market. My concern at this point is liability. It isn't dangerous, but there are pinch zones and one always runs the risk of falling on their butt and damaging equipment.. So I need to talk to a lawyer first.
My goal of course is to have as many people out there testing the arm. I'm trying to figure out the best way to add this as a reward for donors of $500 or more. Still in the early stages.
Thanks for the questions and checking out my project!! This is fun!!
