Pleiades is a short film, based on the Mayan civilization and their battle to survive a reptilian army invasion. For Centuries, historians and have not being able to understand what happened to one of the most important civilizations of all The Maya. “They simply vanished.” Now, prepare yourself to find out the truth about the biggest battle that ever took place on our planet. The battle for the survival of our species.
This short film will feature a battle to the death between Ek Balam, a mayan astronomer forced into soldier and a reptilian army lieutenant.
This short film is based on a graphic novel with the same title that will hit bookshelves in late 2011. The main idea of this project is to show our capabilities and the story itself, to have a chance to turn it into a full length feature film.
The Mayan warrior will be real life but the Reptilian lieutenant will be made by computer animation. We will use top technology as we work with a 10 camera motion capture studio and a Mayan jungle made out of plants and blue screens. We want to spare no quality in shooting this short film so we will shoot it with the Red Cam, a camera that we´ve used before and find it amazing to work with.
The money invested in this production will be basically for the VFX´s production of the Reptilian creature and recreating the Mayan lands as they were back in the days.
