Our goal is to see "Hypnic Jerk" released on vinyl. In return, we will shower you with goodies for your generous help.

In 2005, House of Bread was conceived as a lonely, one-man experiment that attempted to merge two conflicting genres: noise rock and pop. Over the years, the project has slowly evolved into a four-piece band that blends lush layers of fuzzed-out guitars and motorik drums into a dreamy haze of experimental pop.

For the past two years, House of Bread has been working, both diligently and drunkenly, on writing and recording our fourth album, Hypnic Jerk. As we began developing this new batch of songs, we quickly realized that we were finally writing what has been in our heads, as well as our hearts, for several years: a deeply personal, yet easily accessible, collection of songs.

Our main focus during the recording process was to create a record that embodied the energy and excitement that we felt while writing Hypnic Jerk. In order to ensure that this substance would remain, we had the songs remixed and produced at the all-analog studio Off The Cuff Sound here in Fort Wayne, IN. The album was then mixed to tape, where it was then sent off to Carl Saff in Chicago to be mastered. We knew from the beginning that putting the album to vinyl was integral to giving the songs the justice they deserve. With your help, we will be able to have our master files cut to lacquer at Lucky Lacquers. The master lacquer will then be sent to Musicol Press in Ohio where the album will be molded and cut to vinyl.

We don't want your money to buy instruments, toys, gyros, guitar pedals and other gadgets (that we really truly want), we just need your pre-orders and support so we can deliver Hypnic Jerk and a bunch of other treats to your doorstep. With your support we will be able to release an album that we are truly proud of and eager for all of you to listen to and, hopefully, enjoy.

We honestly cannot thank you enough,
Omar Afzaal, Phil Arbogast, Bob Haddad, and Zach Smith

In anticipation and celebration of the release of Hypnic Jerk, we teamed up with John Hartman to film a video for a The Grave Visitor Pt. II, which will be featured on our forthcoming album.
