The Hounds of Finn have new material ready to record, and we are excited to get back into the studio, with your help. We are striving to keep Celtic roots music alive while bridging the gap into modern music.
We will work with musicians, engineers, and technicians in and around the Twin Cities, Minnesota. The funds raised will pay for recording, engineering, mixing, design, and manufacturing of the new CD "Us Four & No More," whose title comes from Leslie's mom in Belfast.
The majority of the budget will be spent recording and mixing in the studio. Rates for studio time often run in the range of $50 per hour, and a full-length album could easily eat up 80-100 hours just in studio production. Other costs include mastering, artwork, and manufacturing. In the end, $6,000 probably won't be enough to do it all; but it certainly will get us most of the way there, and we should be able to cover the rest.
Dave, Michelle, Leslie, and Pete are looking forward to finishing the writing and rehearsing of their new songs in the next couple of months before they begin recording.
