About this project
After a whole bunch of doubting, singing, and then believing in my own voice, I mosied on down to Turtle Studios here in Philadelphia for a chat in the winter of 2010. One year, my whole life savings, and a full length record later, we are ready to send the album to be pressed.
I have spent the better part of this past year recording, mixing, and mastering my debut album with Jeff Hiatt at Turtle Studios . Jeff's intuitive and intelligent ear bolstered my 10 little songs into a vast and textured landscape with instrumentation from some of what I see as la creme de la creme of musicians here in Philly (Carl Cheeseman, Matt Landis, Andy Keenan, Jeff Hiatt, and Gary Lebiedzinski).
I have funded this project myself by a combination of my savings and an initial kick start from my family, and have since been squirreling away money and working as many jobs and waitressing shifts as my human body would allow. The album is done and is patiently waiting to be on your stereo's and in your ears.
What is the money for you ask?
I'm at the gate! I just need a little help to finish. The money from this project will be used to pay for the creation/duplication/ printing and release of 1000 CD's from Sire Press, a local printing press in Philly. Funds are also going to bring to life the beautiful album art designs from Angela Miles including stenciled artwork on the cover and a full color poster insert. There is a small budget for promotion (posters, cards, media) to generate some energy around the release. Lastly, some of the money will be to retroactively pay Ardy Brent Carlson and his crew for their time in making the music video.
Were going to make this happen by reaching out to the people who have supported my music since it started, always encouraging me to record an album, well ya'll I did it. I am also reaching out to my fans in the Jedi Mind Tricks community, the fans I have invited into my heart from being the singer for the group DUTCH. I am reaching out to the philanthropists and the lovers and artists in the world that might look at how dedicated I am to this album and decide to give it wings.
