About this project
Hello!
This is HomeSpun. A project to bring art back home.
We are artists Julie Warchol and Maren Jensen. We want to share our art with you and we want to do it in the comfort of our own abode!
We're looking to get our careers a movin' without dependency on galleries and without a pretty penny in our pocket. We want to take advantage of the spaces already available to us in promoting ourselves as artists and creators. However, as we're both waiting tables by night (and making art even later in the night), we need your help to make HomeSpun happen.
We hope to make HomeSpun a project that not only benefits our own work and careers, but that also incorporates and benefits other artists and creators in the area as well.
We want HomeSpun to be inclusive, supportive, and encouraging; as many of the components of this project are an opportunity to support someone local, independent, and creating as possible. A home-brewer will be providing any beer for the event. All food provided will be vegan. Local photographer, Rebecca Moses, will document our event, local DJ will provide a lovely musical atmosphere with an original mixtape, and a local printer will help us with a run of postcards to promote and commemorate the show. Everyone of any age will be welcome (although carded if inquiring after spirits). We want to share and have you share with us!
Funds from Kickstarter will go towards:
-Food
-Beverage
-Photographer
-Postcards for the event
-Doorman
-Postage
The event is set for Friday, May 13th, 6-9pm in Worcester, MA.
