About this project

Project H.i. "Homeless Interviews" is a feature length documentary/film.
Think of Project H.i. as a quasi Postsecret.com version of video stories told by homeless individuals. Quiet often, we just walk right by or even ignore them, so I did something different. I walked up and decided to say Hi. This is their voice. These are their stories.
I currently have 4 interviews filmed. I plan on filming a total of 50 "interviews" with homeless men, women, and teens throughout California, from north to south, quiet often in some of the worst parts of town.
In order for me to deliver the quality documentary film that I would like to produce, we need your contribution and support, without funding I can't make this happen within a respectable time frame.
Funding raised will go to the budget for the film, this includes additional equipment, travel expenses, editing and film promotion once it is ready for the world. If we exceed our production budget, the funds will go towards moving the film beyond its current scope, possibly submit it to Sundance and additional promotions.
With your help through Kickstarter funding, we will be able to move forward on this truly "one of a kind documentary film".
There are F.A.Q.'s on the www.HomelessInterviews.com website, but there are some key points I feel should be clear:
In no way what-so-ever are the homeless individuals being interviewed being exploited in any form at all. They are simply asked if they would like to be interviewed, if they would like to just talk, and if they are comfortable with a camera. The few times we went to film footage, they actually approached the film crew and asked if they could say something to whoever might see them. You have to remember, majority of the time, people just ignore them, brush them off, or are rude to them... it's a very touching and emotional moment when someone actually *wants* to listen, to hear what they have to say.
The whole ideology behind Project H.i. is to have them tell *their* stories, in some way this is a way for them to tell the world, "Hey, I'm still alive, I still exist, I'm a regular person just like you, these are my experiences", because becoming homeless could happen to anyone.
Warmest Regards and thanks,
David L.
