An anonymous source contributed a very generous amount of money to support our mission - enough to finance a significant portion of the fall 2011 tour and successfully get us to ALL 15 schools on our schedule.
Isn't that great? We think so, too! But here's the thing:

Why the change in direction?
Well unfortunately, our anonymous source is not in a position to use Kickstarter. So after much thought - given the time left on this project, Kickstarter's "all or nothing" policy and the amount left to raise - we decided that it's best to end our #20BY20 campaign early.
But this tour is happening!

WHAT IS THE HALL PASS TOUR
Have you ever been to a pep rally? See how excited everyone gets about the big homecoming game? Well, THAT'S what the Hall Pass Tour is, the pep rally. And college is the big homecoming game. The tour is a series of high energy, K-12 after-school concerts at underserved schools that use music to advance access to higher education and provide a space for communities to support their youth. By partnering with national nonprofit organization, College For Every Student (CFES), we've been able to tour at CFES schools across NYC. Essentially, we get kids excited about the possibility of going to college.
What makes us different? We allow students to take the lead. At each school, we hold auditions and select students to either open for our headliners (two NYC-based artists), co-host or co-DJ, and share their college and career aspirations to motivate their peers to dream bigger. We also dish out some cool giveaways, present a variety of awards to students and faculty and provide useful college resources.
This fall, we have 16 schools across Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts and New York that are on board for the nationwide launch of the tour. Because of YOU, we'll be able to get there.

One of us is the first in our family to receive a college degree, three of us are proud college graduates, all of us were underserved students from low-income families who went on to attend college (in fact, ScienZe is currently completing his final semester). We're passionate about music and education and we built the tour to preserve the arts and assure that the students who are where we once were, have ample opportunities to shine.
WHAT WE WANT TO DO
The tour will hit a new region of the country in the spring and continue operating on the public school calendar (using the summers off for development). New season, new region. Within the next three academic years, we plan to take the tour across America and introduce it to underserved schools across the globe.
WHAT THE MONEY WILL BE USED FOR
Travel and accommodations, branded tour merchandise, food, equipment (some schools don't have budgets for things like microphones), design and printing fees, materials for our pre-concert workshops (which will give students an inside look at how we built the tour and provide a series of college readiness activities and resources) and all the costs associated with making the tour a success.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
This is actually the most important part. Without you, we'd likely be selling our most prized possessions, donating plasma and eating Ramen to save as much as we could so the success of this project is just as much YOURS as it is ours. Whether you pledge $1 or $100, we've put together a series of rewards packages including concert tickets, DJ lessons, custom USB drives, t-shirts, creative planning sessions, exclusive footage and lots more (check out the list to your right to see what else). PLUS we've got a few extra goodies up our sleeves that we'll be sharing with you over the course of the project.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
- Kickstarter is ALL or nothing. If we don't reach the $20,000 goal, we walk away with $0.
- Your pledges will be deducted at the END of the project, once it is successfully funded. Simply click on the green "Back This Project" button at the top and you'll go through the check out process and be able to select your reward.

Well, you’re a godsend. But of course, you already knew that. We considered naming our first born after you but -- if one of us has a daughter and your name is Bradley or Robert (or something testosterone-y), welp! -- that’s just awkward.
