About this project
The Trippple Nippples are a Japanese trio combining music and performance art.
With the release of their debut album they're going to begin touring to spread the word. The first stop is China with shows in Shanghai and Beijing.
As a talented but up-and-coming group, they don't have the money to bring along a photographer/videographer to document the experience. Learning of this great tragedy, we felt it was our duty to step in and resolve the problem.
Unfortunately for us, we too are up & comers making it difficult for us to financially back a project like this by ourselves. This is where you can help!
The money we wish to raise will facilitate flights and accommodation for Carl (one of our photographers) to join them and document their tour and pay for post production of the stills and video that Carl captures. Documenting the band on and off the stage, we seek to gain an insight into who they are and the characters they embody during their performances.
What Hobo produces will be used to increase their profile and support them for future tours in Europe and the United States.
It'll be made available to our backers before anyone else via the backers-only blog, before being made available to the public.
Please know that Hobo is not profiting from this project at all. We're big fans of what they're doing and want to support them as much as we can.
NB: Hobo will be matching the amount pledged via Kickstarter up to $3,000.
How do your pledges help us? If we raise $1,000 Carl can fly to China, but will have no money to leave the airport. Forced to feed on food court detritus, he returns home confused and addicted to week old honey chicken.
If we raise $2,000 Carl can leave the airport and stay in Shanghai during the Trippple Nippples' first gig. He may even be able to get to Beijing using his last $5, but that's where the fun ends. Once there, he'll roam the capital taking family portraits until he can purchase a passage home.
If we raise $3,000 Carl will probably be alright. He can even sleep indoors for a couple of nights and will be able to focus his efforts on getting the best (ever) photos and video of the Nippples. He'll even be able to fly on airplanes to all destinations. Week long expeditions on foot will be a thing of the past.

Who are Hobo? Hobo is a photography collective with members throughout Australia, Paris & NYC. We have produced work across music, portraiture, reportage, fine art, fashion and advertising. More of our work can be viewed here. Amongst other things, we're currently touring with the Good Vibrations Festival with the likes of The Killers, The Gossip, Basement Jaxx, Busta Rhymes, Naughty by Nature, Kid Cudi, Chuckie and Art vs Science.
After touring nationally in Australia with such established acts, we're looking forward to doing a smaller tour with a younger act that's unique in its sound and performance.

Who are the Trippple Nippples?
The Trippple Nippples are Yuka Nippple and Qrea Nippple on vocals and Joseph Lamont on electronics/synth/guitar and Gui Martinez on drums). They have collaborated with the likes of Jeremy Scott, Ksubi, Tokyo Fashion Week, Kirin and have played with KATHY, Daito Manabe, Danger, Mademoiselle Yulia, Chicks on Speed, VERBAL and The Lowbrows.
