Our project is a feature length dark comedy about a struggling playwright living in New York.

Our production is a micro budget film, independently produced, and will be the first feature created by our new company, Hand-Me-Down Films. The money raised through kickstarter would be the primary budget for the film, and would be used for renting camera lenses, buying costumes, makeup, building sets, and catering. We hope with your help to make something amazing.

THE BLAME GAME is a dark comedy set in New York, which follows TOMMY, a playwright, struggling to make it on Broadway. One of his friends, Allie, invites him to a party she's throwing with a bunch of her successful "artsy" friends.

Tommy, hoping to make some contacts, maybe get inspired, or even just to get a meal, goes to the party. During the course of the night some strange events transpire in which a pair of dauchsunds is kidnapped, someone catches on fire, and one of the artists turns up dead. It's soon made apparent that one of the group is the murderer, which sets Tommy on a mission to discover which one of them it is.

And no, it was not the butler.

We're in college, and some of us are about to finish up. We figured, why wait for life to provide us with an opportunity to make something we love, when we have the means to do it ourselves?

We decided to take a chance, and put all the stuff we've been learning at school to the test. This isn't just some crappy school project. We are taking this seriously (not that we don't take our school seriously) and treating this like a real film. That means production budgets, schedules, building sets, renting equipment, the whole nine yards. We want to try and make this as good as we can.

Most of the cast and crew are students at George Mason University. It stars Matt Pechiney, James Snow, Julie Kann, Dylan Hares, Christine Corbett, Alec Mohn, and Andy Raoufi.

It is written and directed by Zack Gross, and produced by Nathan McFarland.

The filmmakers:

If you've read this far, we hope you're willing to go a little farther and help us out by donating to our project. We can't do this on our own, which is why we need all the help we can get; from people like you.

Thanks so much for reading, and for your support!
