Hallo! My name is Madéleine Flores!

I would like to Circumnavigate the Earth and make a comic about it.

This is my attempt at being a modern explorer- learning new things, making human connections and just being able to say that you've DONE it.

I blame my wanderlust on The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Doctor Who and stacks of National Geographic Magazines.

The comic would chronicle the trip from start to finish, cataloging my experiences and people I meet along the way. The trip would start from my current home of Orlando, Florida- I would take a plane to London, from there I take a train to Moscow, Russia, and from there- Take the Trans-Siberian Railway to Beijing, take the Ferry to Kobe, Japan, and once in Japan, catch a flight back home to the US of A. Voila! A modern semi- DIY way of circumnavigating the earth!

Now, also being an environmentally conscious traveller, I'm going to reduce my carbon footprint by taking airlines that have made a public effort to reduce their carbon emissions, walking whenever possible, and of course- taking a train, which is much less harmful than flying in general.

What I'm asking Kickstarter, is to help offset some of the travel and visa costs- being an American I will need a travel and transit visa for Belarus,Russia and China.

As well as raise enough money to put out a great looking book at the end for everyone to enjoy!

Any amount is greatly appreciated! Some of the rewards I'm offering include some of my previous comic work, original sketches from the trip and copies of the final product!
