First of all, THANK YOU for visiting our kickstarter page, we can only make this record happen with your help!
We've been together as a band for a while now...we've played tons of shows all over the east coast, some big, and some small. Whether it's opening for George Clinton and The Parliament Funkadelic in front of thousands of people, or playing an incredible wedding for friends of ours at a remote barn in Vermont, we love making music.
About a year ago we put together a self-produced EP that we recorded in our rehearsal space. It was a good start, but it doesn't quite capture what we're all about, so we set out to record our first full-length album the right way. We had some great friends help us out, connecting us with amazing studios, equipment, and engineers. We quickly realized, though, that the process costs many more dollars than we have to spend.
So we now turn to you – our fans, family, and friends – to ask for your help. This record means a whole lot to us and we can’t wait to get it to you -- Any contribution you can make is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!

Birthed from a shared cab-ride back from JFK, Heylady is a soul/funk/pop/rock sonic explosion based in Brooklyn, NY. Fronted by the earthy, soulful voice of Nina Zeitlin, Heylady consists of Dave Cohen (vocals/keys), Josh Green (guitar), Michael DeVellis (sax/flute/violin/ewi), Daniel Gould (drums), and Jake Leschinsky (bass). Debuting in 2009, they have since played all over the northeast, sharing the stage with bands like George Clinton & the Parliament Funkadelic and Breakestra. Following the 2011 release of a self-produced EP, they’re currently working on their first full-length album, infused with vibrant melodies and tight harmonic vocals.
